… Margot? I do! I’ve watched the Barbie movie three times now and I’ve developed a girl crush on her for some reason. I’ve watched a few clips of her Barbie promo with Ryan and she just exudes cool, fun but also serious and mature energy. Never seen any of her movies before.

Pathetic but I’m considering her Barbie promo style a bit of a style inspiration. I’m trying to dress more girly and feminine now. I’m also losing weight too. She’s just soo cool and pretty.

I really envy her and Tom’s relationship/marriage even though I know nothing real about them. I wonder what is going on with me because I can recognise this is well weird and it’s only the last two weeks I’ve felt this way.

I think she’s boring looking. I don’t mean that she isn’t attractive, in the stereotypical sense she completely is, but that’s also why I think she’s boring looking. It’s cookie cutter. There is nothing that’s interesting. I don’t personally find her attractive.

But I have always been told I go for ‘different’ looking people (I’m bi) who have strong or unique features.

Mutabiliss · 10/08/2023 13:17

Not really, she's very striking but has had a lot of work done to look like that. Find some photos of her as a young woman - she's far more ordinary looking, though of course still very pretty.

That makes her very good casting for roles like a trophy wife in The Wolf of Wall Street and, of course, Barbie.

VimtoPassion · 10/08/2023 13:19

No and I've recently realised that women who complain of being invisible in middle age did get by on their looks when younger. Being less attractive means you develop other ways to be interesting/noticeable and they only grow, not fade, with age.

Yes. Obviously.

Lentilweaver · 10/08/2023 13:33

Also not all of us on here are white, so the blonde blue-eyed model of good looks does not have universal appeal.

I look a bit like Seema on AJLT- not as glam- and I am happy with that. Won't need Botox!

GloomySkies · 10/08/2023 13:37

She's much better looking than I am, but if we get to choose, I'll wake up like Christina Chong thanks.

Grapewrath · 10/08/2023 13:39

No but I want to look like Emily Browning in Legend. Which is probably a worry 😂

I get this. I think there's a difference between being pretty and attractiveness. She's definitely pretty, but her face lacks distinctiveness, which also makes her a bit bland looking.

I would have a hard time picking her out from dozens of other blonde actresses, which I guess makes her ideal as Barbie

However, I think it's often peoples uniqueness/distinctiveness, and small imperfections that make them attractive.

In the eye of the beholder though...

riotlady · 10/08/2023 14:08

Nah, I feel like it would be hard work being that beautiful. I feel like “a bit prettier than average but not stunning” is the ideal amount of attractive to be- can happily look at yourself in photos but get a bit less attention.

Yep I’m a POC and that’s party why I have no desire to look like her.

If I HAD to choose a famous actor it’d probably be Angela Bassett, she just doesn’t age and her bone structure is amazing 🤩 now that is stunning to me! but yeah I’m happy with the way I look - when I’m at my best - and wouldn’t choose to look completely different.

Lentilweaver · 10/08/2023 14:53

Angela Bassett is incredibly attractive. Even Viola Davis is more to my taste, looks wise, because she is more distinctive. Obviously Margot was perfect for all the parts she played.

Goldenbear · 10/08/2023 15:19

You can be striking and blonde with blue eyes and age is. I mean it has been a stereotype but that has changed and definitely not true anymore. Blond and blue eyed people really vary just as much as other people with different colourings. Like almond shape eyes, I am blond and have them unsure why it is typical not to with my colouring.

Goldenbear · 10/08/2023 15:20

Not age, she

Goldenbear · 10/08/2023 15:22

I disagree she is definitely distinctive looking, being blond and blue eyed does not make that any less so.

Bookist · 10/08/2023 15:34

She is conventionally extremely pretty. Girl-Next-Door pretty, but on steroids. I was in the same restaurant as Monica Bellucci about 15 years ago. Now she was jaw droppingly beautiful. Not conventionally pretty. Simply, utterly, beautiful.

MrsJellybee · 10/08/2023 15:37

I don’t have the $150,000 it takes to look like Margot Robbie.

Yes Viola Davis has a very classy and distinctive look and her figure is amazing, especially for a woman in her late 50s! I don’t think she’s had any cosmetic work done as well.

dramoy · 10/08/2023 15:48

@Bookist I've always thought she was drop dead gorgeous & very sensual. I think Angelina Jolie is incredibly beautiful too.

Angela Bassett does have a fantastic bond structure - which is one reason she will look amazing for yrs to come. It's scaffolding for the face.

rubbishatballet · 10/08/2023 15:53

No, I think she's pretty but in quite a conventional, and dare I say slightly boring, way.

I would much rather look like Vick Hope, Blake Lively, or (especially) a young Catherine Zeta Jones.

garlictwist · 10/08/2023 16:08

Margot Robbie is so beautiful she doesn't even look real. Like someone made a machine to make the most beautiful woman ever and she popped out. So yes, I would love to look like her. Grin

I would also like to have the body of Sarah Jessica Parker. Im rewatching old sex and the city episodes and she is so petite and dainty.

SocksAndTheCity · 10/08/2023 16:12

I think Margot Robbie is gorgeous, but I'd climb over her to get to Florence Pugh 😀

I'm happy looking like myself, though 😊

Ridemeginger · 10/08/2023 16:27

I saw her the other day in Bombshell. Great film, great ensemble cast, and MR was very good in it. She's also great in I, Tonya. I think she is very talented and a savvy business woman/producer as well.

If I put on the slightest bit of weight there’s no hiding it as it goes to my face 😂 so I’ve always rather admired those with that kind of Angela Bassett type bone structures. Yes Angelina jolie is also another striking beauty.

CrosstheTee · 10/08/2023 17:30

No, I'm not white and don't wish to look like barbie or Margot . As many on here would scream cultural appropriation - however I wouldn't mind being taller and thinner with nicer skin and longer thicker hair. Buts that's as far as it goes. Her look is so common to me it's boring I like more exotic features a face that can speak a thousand words without talking.
