… Margot? I do! I’ve watched the Barbie movie three times now and I’ve developed a girl crush on her for some reason. I’ve watched a few clips of her Barbie promo with Ryan and she just exudes cool, fun but also serious and mature energy. Never seen any of her movies before.

Pathetic but I’m considering her Barbie promo style a bit of a style inspiration. I’m trying to dress more girly and feminine now. I’m also losing weight too. She’s just soo cool and pretty.

I really envy her and Tom’s relationship/marriage even though I know nothing real about them. I wonder what is going on with me because I can recognise this is well weird and it’s only the last two weeks I’ve felt this way.

She is pretty, but to me she looks interchangeable with dozens of other blonde Hollywood actresses. If I saw her in another film, I probably wouldn't recognise her as she's very generic looking

There are other far more attractive actresses imo - such as Kaya Scodelario and Blake Lively

Plus, she's has plastic surgery so you're looking at someone unnaturally 'perfect'

Oatycookies · 10/08/2023 05:34

I don’t know if my ex flatmate had work on her face but I don’t think so . It is possible though, because for all she ranted on about the organic and healthy lifestyle she supposedly lead I found out later she had breast implants so you never know.

But no I wouldn’t like to look her particularly, although she is very pretty IMO. I like the way I look when I’m at my best, sleeping and eating well, slim and well groomed - so I just want to be a better version of how I currently look!

Zanatdy · 10/08/2023 05:57

She’s stunning

PumpkinsAndCoconuts · 10/08/2023 06:11

keeping my face and hair (I have a great face and nice hair 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️) but waking up with Margot Robbie’s body?

yes, I would be okay with that.

Blake Lively also had plastic surgery, btw…

MysteryBelle · 10/08/2023 06:20

uh no. I see nothing appealing about her, I mean not one thing. She looks like she’s straight out of the 1940s, all she needs is a pompadour hairdo and a frilled apron.

You sound like a wide eyed fan of anything the corporate culture puts in front of your face.

Use your noggin if you have one.

MysteryBelle · 10/08/2023 06:26

I never liked Barbie when I was a little girl. She looked weird with giant breasts poking straight ahead and vacuous eyes.

I had a Daisy doll. She had a round face and a young girl’s shape, which is more appropriate for little girls anyway. Ironically, her wardrobe was designed by Mary Quant, who popularized the mini skirt.

TallerThanAverage · 10/08/2023 06:34

Each to their own but I think you missed the point of the film.

Janieforever · 10/08/2023 06:39

No, I don’t get this, but I can see Margot is very attractive and a skilled actress. I don’t think she’s had lots of work, lots of photos of her growing up and clearly no signficant changes other than maturing. And I don’t think she’s stolen any one. Not least as that’s not possible to steal someone. Feels like a couple of folks just wanting to attack.

but I also feel envying a relationship you don’t know anything about, watching the movie repeatedly, wanting to look like her is quite obsessive and not healthy. For me it would point to unhappiness in your own relationship and appearance.

tallsmallmum · 10/08/2023 06:51

Not after I've watched I, Tonya many times, she's just a normal person

CherryCokeFanatic · 10/08/2023 06:53

Limerence

dramoy · 10/08/2023 06:59

I genuinely don't understand how people don't think she's had work. Yes it's nothing dramatic & she was beautiful before but everything is just that bit more refined which is the whole point of good tweaking.

Er, Blake Lively has had surgery. I don't think you can judge people in Hollywood for getting surgery, they probably feel they have no choice.

Janieforever · 10/08/2023 07:07

Is the shed had work thing in some way intended to negate her attractiveness. Her photos growing up show she’s not had anything compared to her recent photos with no make up in the gym.

She’s simply an attractive woman and yes in most photo shoots she’s got expertly done hair and make up

some women are simply beautiful. So what.

dramoy · 10/08/2023 07:18

Not by me as I think she was beautiful before. I do think in Hollywood though it's often not enough to be simply beautiful, you can't really have signs of ageing, it's better to be very slim, teeth have to be perfect etc. Look at Brad Pitt recently

BetterMusicToday · 10/08/2023 11:02

I can admire beauty in others but want to look like me. And I am no oil painting. It sounds cheesy but my face is what my husband liked when he met me, and what my kids grew up looking at and loving. I wouldn’t change that for all the Oscars in Hollywood.

Yes, I know that she's had surgery. Most actresses have. It's a side effect of being on camera all the time.

I'm not judging anybody for having surgery, I'm simply pointing out that OP is aspiring to an unrealistic beauty standard

Hufflepods · 10/08/2023 11:23

I just don't ever wish I looked like anyone else specifically. However there are some really nasty comments on this thread!

KylieKangaroo · 09/08/2023 22:25

She is beautiful I would love to look like her, and she seems really nice too. My daughter who I took to see the film said "oh she looks like you Mummy" she does not at all in any shape or form but bless my daughter for seeing me in that light!

My DD said I look like Rachel in friends. I sadly do not!

roarrfeckingroar · 10/08/2023 12:41

She's stunningly beautiful. Perfect IMO.

Beezknees · 10/08/2023 12:48

No. She's stunning but I'm not into that girly look and fashion.

tennesseewhiskey1 · 10/08/2023 12:51

No - i think she's quite plain and average... and also an average actress! I did like her HQ character tho! She plays insane pretty well.

DrSbaitso · 10/08/2023 12:52

i think she's quite plain and average

Have you ever met an average looking person?

Needmorelego · 10/08/2023 12:54

I always think she still looks like she did in Neighbours. I’m gonna have to Google how old she was when she was playing a schoolgirl!!!

Needmorelego · 10/08/2023 12:58

She was 18 when she started Neighbours…..15 years ago!
She will always be Donna to me 😂

NeverDropYourMooncup · 10/08/2023 13:13

So much for it being an empowering movie about how it's great to be just you, when what you take from it is 'I must dress pretty and lose weight to be like her'. You won't be the only woman or girl that has internalised that message, either.
