Im on a family holiday,
me, kids, reluctant hubby and my mother in Cornwall. Worked hard all year for this break, me and mum like to wrap up for the great British summer and sit outside for a drink and a chat and some CF has just ‘sssh’ us at 11.15, some guy trying to sleep. Are we being unreasonable?! No music, just a mum and daughter chat outside our house after a crazy day with the kids ……

And that ‘cf’ has most likely got to get up in the morning and go to work if you are in a holiday cottage. After 11 take it inside. Voices carry more than you might think.

My neighbours often wake me up saying goodbye to visitors. Talking is very disturbing. So, yes, you are probably being U to be talking outside so late.

YABU in that the only CF is you. If you need to chat outside, do it earlier.

If somebody asks you to be quiet after 11:00 at night, you bloody well oblige! It’s a lovely idea to be sat outside chatting under the stars, but it’s not fair if it is keeping someone else awake,

I live in a row of 5 cottages. Ours is the only one that isn’t a holiday rental. Every night is a holiday for them, but not for me. Be considerate of those around you.

Or if it’s another family who have ‘worked hard this year for their break’ and want some peace and quiet … your needs/wants don’t trump theirs.

Why does saving money mean you can be noisy after 11pm? there is not enough letters to say unbelievably rude this is to assume you being noisy outranks anything else

Why can't people understand how their voices, no matter how quiet you think you are, travel in the dead of night when it's completely silent and on a weeknight when loads of people have to work.

Marvellous for those WFH especially those next to AirB&B lets or who get home after work wanting a bit of peace and quiet only for the holiday let next door getting their money worth's
