For me it’s BBC’s 1995 Pride and Prejudice. Absolute perfection, I wouldn’t change a thing!

@Edwardandtubbs I love Maid Marion and her merry men. You can still watch it on YouTube

Band of Brothers

The West Wing.

So agree, one of the very few things I can watch again and will concentrate on it rather than 'out of the corner of my eye' as I watch most things.
Am I alone in never like Fools and Horses? I get somuch abuse for not worshipping it but the bits I've seen are so unfunny.

tracylamont13 · 28/07/2023 21:01

Agree about the 1995 Pride and Prejudice. I've watched it again and again.

Schitts Creek
The Outlaws
Yes Minister/Prime Minister

I wonder why Yes Minister/Prime Minister never seem to date, so much is applicable now.

The Thick Of It is perfect imo. Every episode is so beautifully written and acted. I can watch it again and again and it never stops being funny.

I love The Thick of It too - Malcolm Tucker 😍

So many good ones I have forgotten. I must watch too much tv.

has anyone mentioned Dinnerladies yet?

One of the best written and observed programmes on TV, if anyone mentions a sash window it cracks me up even after all these years. The best part was that she didn't drag it on for dozens of episodes.

Detectorists
The Thick of It
Succession

I quote it all the time. It was perfectly observed and acted.

It should be written dinnerladies (no capital). VW insisted.

Abit late to this but...come on...what could be a better watch!!!!

I can almost taste the Saturday morning fry-up as we watched this!

NadjaCravensworth1 · 28/07/2023 21:16

Succession. Impeccable.

Fleabag series 2

Sugarplumfury · 28/07/2023 21:18

JudgeJ. If you close your eyes so you don’t see the clothes and hairstyles , Yes Minister could be about today’s government. It just shows how duplicitous and cunning that whole environment has always been.

I listened to some of the original radio shows recentjy. So topical!

AnxiousFairyQueen · 28/07/2023 21:28

I like P&P but I prefer the BBC adaptation of Emma with Romola Garai. And the Detectorists.

Better Call Saul - best show ever from start to finish

Yes, this for sure!

Paulisexcluded · 28/07/2023 21:31

@MorrisZapp
"Godless, starring Lady Mary from Downton Abbey as a gun slinging prairie widow and Jeff Daniels as a psychopathic train robber.

Everything about it is 'chefs kiss', including the ending which pretty much seals off any further episodes."

Agree Godless is fantastic.

ASoapImpressionOfHisWifeWhichHeAte · 28/07/2023 21:31

I do and it's 'Six Feet Under'.

MissDollyMix · 28/07/2023 21:34

Frasier, Gavin & Stacey, Father Ted, The Inbetweeners and Outnumbered all immediately spring to mind.

I loved Line of Duty- that was so gripping - spoilt from perfection by the very last episode though.

MissDollyMix · 28/07/2023 21:36

oh I forgot an honourable mention for Friday Night Dinner too!

Floatlikeafeather2 · 28/07/2023 18:38

Green Wing

Yes!!! This.

MissDollyMix · 28/07/2023 21:39

I keep thinking of more! Life on Mars!! That was absolutely brilliant.

Lapland123 · 28/07/2023 21:42

Desperate housewives!!

neverbeenskiing · 28/07/2023 21:42

Oh I almost forgot Beef. Binge watched the whole thing over a weekend, I was completely hooked by it. Steven Yeun is phenomenal.

balatonbumm · 28/07/2023 21:44

The West Wing. Nothing else ever comes close.
