Prints and logos on t-shirts / tops look stupid and immature when you're 30s

I'm trying to settle a little dispute with a friend of mine,

We're both blokes in our 30s and i basically told him his Boba Fett t-shirt is not what you could call optimal dress sense if he wants to attract women and generally look like a well rounded 30-something bloke.

Same goes to a lesser extent logo tops.. "Calvin Klein"

I like high quality PLAIN tops 100% cotton and well fitting to my body, maybe they'll have a small logo somewhere but that's all.

My DP is into photography and motorbikes.

He wears t shirts featuring camera slogans and motorbikes pictures, aged nearly fifty. Bless him <fond>

LMFAO at men on here who profess to know what “women” find attractive.
we are 51% of the population, not a homogenous bunch who get excited over a tight fitting shirt and the stench of Obsession for men

You fo you, mate, and stop trying to tell other people what to wear.

Nah, DP is currently wearing a Lawnmower Deth Tshirt which he has quite possibly had as long as we've been together (18 years)...

I'll stick with my people, the band, logo, print tshirt folks.

CRIKEY!! 😁

Mutabiliss · 27/07/2023 11:49

This thread is hilarious 😂I am also attached to a 40s man who wears band or geeky t-shirts most of the time, and he's been wearing them since we met aged 25. Surely the fact that he managed to meet and hang on to a woman for this long suggests that his clothes are not an issue?

I honestly don't care about a man's leg shape. Face, yes. Hair, maybe. Personality and ability to make me laugh, absolutely. But clothes? Physique? Meh. Either I fancy you or I don't.

TheGoddessFrigg · 27/07/2023 11:52

Im getting Very Strong 'Turkey Teeth' vibes from this one. And a fondness for Peaky Blinders posters in the house...

Thread title makes me want to rush out & by a t-shirt like this.
I humbly submit it's the contents not the wrapper that convinces the shopper.
... Wouldn't kick him out for farting in bed

I'd instantly fall in love with anyone who wears this!!

CSIblonde · 27/07/2023 11:59

Your username suggests you're a Londoner? I'm an ex Northerner & Midlander. I really noticed when I moved to London that the younger men (but not my age group thankfully) were obsessed with their looks & fashion. I found it very shallow & it would turn me right off . The Estate Agent 'Ken doll' Darrens here are interesting: mid 20's, orange fake tan, over whitened teeth, highlights, pepperami skinny, tight grey suit, way too much aftershave . Nope. Just no.

Kellogscorncrakes · 27/07/2023 12:40

I feel like the op probably looks like one of those blokes from the '4 lads' meme. Myself and dp are both into rock/metal and he has some great t shirts from gigs over the years. He looks much fitter in these than boring plain clothes to me!

BlondeFool · 27/07/2023 12:54

I'm wearing a Guns n Roses t-shirt today. I'm 49 🤷‍♀️😂

SilIssuesAgain · 27/07/2023 13:16

You sound boring and self obsessed.

that are well fitted and show off my physique. I also wear slim fitting jeans 🤮

ManateeFair · 27/07/2023 13:30

Well, the best way to meet women you have something in common with is to be yourself rather than pretending to be someone else. Clothes signal who you are. If your friend's personality and interests are reflected by a Boba Fett t-shirt, then he is likely to meet women who are attracted to men like him and who he actually has things in common with. That is a good thing.

I wouldn't be attracted to man who wore expensive designer stuff with logos on it. That's just not my thing. But a man who wore expensive designer stuff with logos wouldn't want to date me anyway, because we'd be unlikely to be compatible. A man who dresses like that probably wants a woman who appreciates that kind of thing, and by dressing that way, he is more likely to find one.

Tootsweets84 · 27/07/2023 14:24

Man telling telling women what women find attractive in a man. I'm really not sure what you expected to gain from this post OP.

As a woman in her 30s, who is no longer on the dating scene, but still has eyes and hasn't completely lost the ability to find men other than my husband attractive, a man who wears his interests/personality literally on his t shirt is ideal. There is nothing more boring than a man who just looks like a blank, cloned canvas. I'm sure you look lovely in your plain t shirts and slim jeans, but it tells me nothing of who you actually are. If your friend is trying to attract a woman who cares more about what other people think of her clothing than whether she actually likes it, then perhaps he should follow your advice. If he's looking for someone who will like him for who he is, quirks and nerdy hobbies included and is also comfortable in her own skin, then he's doing just fine and the right one will turn up.

Agree with this.

OP's style would send me running for the hills, and whilst his friend's style probably suggests we'd not be compatible it's irrelevant because there'll be women or there who are looking for his friend's style and hobbies.

CRIKEY!! 😁

Point proven - logo/slogan/band shirts help you find your people!😁(MN is not where I would typically look for Lawnmower Deth folks!)

Todays Tees are - him: Marvel logo, Me: VW camper vans.

Are there people who find the current trend for tight jeans on men attractive?

I think it makes blokes look like upside down triangles, precariously balanced and often in danger of strangling a testicle. Not attractive in the slightest.

ImBoilingJackie · 02/08/2023 14:14

Oh yes, so immature and not at all attractive to women in the printed T-shirt.

I'm 57 and wear Ralph Lauren, Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein, and Stone Island teeshirts and jumpers. Stop being a fuddy duddy.

Mumof2NDers · 04/02/2024 22:31
