To find unpainted toenails gross?

I wouldn't dream of wearing sandals without unpainted toenails. I just think it looks horrible. Am I being weird? I don't care what anyone else's feet look like though tbh.

I really wish they would, I'm hoping in the very near future it takes off.

I always have my toenails painted during spring and summer and for any winter holidays and I do notice when people wear sandals without painted toenails.
Went to a wedding the other day... fellow wedding guest looked gorgeous but couldn't believe it when I saw her painted gnarly toenails...I'm so shallow 😆

I hate acrylics they look soo cheap and they make your nails more fragile and yellow

It’s funny phrasing though because the title of the OP is ‘to find unpainted toenails gross’ which clearly implies she finds everyone’s unpainted toenails gross. It would have been so easy to say ‘to hate having unpainted toenails’.

TBH I can't be arsed to paint my toenails - bad back and boobs get in the way of bending down that far!! If the only thing others have to worry about is the state of my feet then that's their issue!!

When I wear sandals, which isn't often, I too do so with unpainted toenails. I suspect that particular double negative is a mistake though.

It's a bit odd to view part of your own body as gross, just because you haven't painted over it. But then I don't where makeup either, so whatever.

Think painted nails draws more attention to feet

That's a massive generalisation, and also quite rude. I don't think I'd be very popular on here if I said, I don't know, "I don't ever want to have to look at a woman's legs again!!! Women have such ugly legs!"

I wouldn't ever paint my toe nails. I really can't see the point. I don't tend to notice what others do generally but when I do it's to think that a garish bit of colour looks absurd on someone's unattractive feet.

The Daily Mail agrees with you for what it’s worth. I remember they ran a story a few years ago about Kate Whatever-she’s-called-at-the-moment being seen in public with (the shame!) unpainted toenails.

Personally I couldn’t be arsed to buy nail polish and arse around painting my toe nails. I hate the smell of nail polish as well. My toes just look like toes and there is no cost to just leaving them as they are.

I've got lovely, healthy clean toenails and my feet aren't bad either! One of the few body parts I'm completely happy with. I've not painted my toenails since being a teenager. If you look at my completely inoffensive feet and think they're disgusting I think it says more about you...

I agree with @mayorofcasterbridge men should paint their toe nails or have their unsightly feet surgically removed.

I’d go even further and insist upon tight, revealing swimwear for all men on the beach and a freshly made up face at ALL times. I once had the misfortune of making eye contact with a man on a flight and he was wearing no makeup at all! In public! It’s so rude and lazy.

Same here, I hate those long nails, how people function with them I don't know.

I like my bare nails and only paint them when I am going out.

I paint my toes because years of dancing ruined my feet and gave me bunions, which in turn weakened my nails (bashing on shoes) and made me prone to infections. I managed to clear the infection with very expensive laser treatment but my nails are translucent and yellow. Delightful.

Keeping them short and painted (and moisturising the bejesus out of them)is the least I can do for the poor things.

I must be gross. I don't think I have ever painted my toenails, and very rarely my fingernails either.

I can honestly say that I never even notice other people's feet, and couldn't give a shit about whether toenails are painted or not.

Life's too short to worry about such total bollocks!

As if we don't have enough to do all day without having to worry about painting our toenails on top! Get over it. Natural is normal. Painted is weird!

Why do so many people have such a problem with feet?

I'm no foot fetishist but my feet are quite nice and they do a good job of keeping me upright.
Sometimes I paint my toenails in summer, sometimes not.

I know a lot of women with fake acrylic, gel or whatever they are, fingernails which I privately think look awful but it's none of my business, they must like them, so it's fine.

Well-cared for feet is key.

In my mind, the key is to have well-trimmed nails and feet which have been buffed and are free of loose skin or visible rough parts. Whether. Nails are polished or not doesn’t matter. Healthy, natural coloured toe nails look fine.

Personally I don’t like polish in finger nails, especially nail art or patterns and don’t like pointy sharp nails……just looks tacky to me…but I realise loots of people love it and it’s all personal preference.

Some people will say that anyone who hasn’t had their eyebrows done and fake eye lashes out on and lots of makeup, fake tan, nails, toenails, full waving etc. ‘haven’t made an effort’ but many people wouldn’t go near most of those things with a barge pole. Lots like to fit in with their ‘tribe’ whether it’s all au natrel or decidedly not.

So those of us that can't paint our toenails and simply don't have time to go to pedicures shouldn't wear sandals in hot weather?.
