To find unpainted toenails gross?

I wouldn't dream of wearing sandals without unpainted toenails. I just think it looks horrible. Am I being weird? I don't care what anyone else's feet look like though tbh.

I don't know why other women my age don't realise coloured nail varnish can be incredibly aging too.

Utter nonsense.

Coloured nails can look fab. Mine are always painted, always coloured. They are short, & strong colours suit my nails, hands & general appearance.

Other colours eg pastels, nudes suit other people.

It's not about age. It's about your individual style.

I much prefer unpainted toenails. Nothing nicer than a nice clean toenail on a well-cared for foot.

Regarding painting / not - I'm envious if I see a woman wearing sandals with nice feet & toenails. I think it looks great.

Unkempt feet & toenails are what's repulsive.

I paint mine - usually Shellac. Mine are not nice & so painted toes are absolutely required.

I care a lot about my health and hygiene, but painting toenails has absolutely nothing to do with health or hygiene.

I’m always surprised on these threads how many people have an issue with feet. Weird. Anyway I don’t care whether other people paint their toenails or not but this summer I have been a bit repulsed by the long big toenail trend. I’m not a fan of long fingernails but long toenails are not nice at all.

I like painted toenails personally, but I don't think unpainted is gross. If they are neat and clean who cares what colour they are. What I do hate is long/overgrown toenails painted with french tips.

I’m with you😭 I’d NEVER wear sandals without having a pedicure. I won’t even paint them myself as I don’t like how they look. They have to have been done in the salon.

If other people don’t like colour on their feet then that’s great for them! I personally don’t like it myself. I feel as if my outfit isn’t complete (I know that sounds stupid😂)

I agree, I have mine french gel polished through the summer. Lasts for 4 weeks, no chips and looks lovely.

It’s my unreasonable hate too. As for men’s toenails - there should be a law that they should be covered up. Why are they always so enormous!

I got told in no uncertain terms by some mouthy woman in the pub that she didnt know how I could go out with unpainted toe nails in sandals. She was the aquantaince of a friend who didnt really like her either!

Went on and on about it, until I pointed out that they were not in fact painted, she was right. They were gel'd in a natural skin colour to match my fingernails. I choose this colour I am a fan on bright colours on me, but the gels protect my very weak nails. So they look unpainted but always very clean, neat and unchipped. Toe nails were always perfectly filed etc. She went quiet and then went on that I should choose a brighter colour so people can tell they are painted otherwise they would think I was minging!

I burst out laughing (it was a prosecco evening) and she didnt speak to me again (win!) and now avoids me in the pub!

I do love a red painted toenail but I love more a tanned foot with healthy unpainted nails, it’s classy and fresh.
