To find unpainted toenails gross?

I wouldn't dream of wearing sandals without unpainted toenails. I just think it looks horrible. Am I being weird? I don't care what anyone else's feet look like though tbh.

I was once looking down at my bare toes wiggling in the sand, in a queue for croissants on a beach shack in France. I then saw some blue nail polish on some hairy feet next to me. As I looked up I realised that was the only thing he was wearing except a piercing. Blue nail polish reminds me of that interesting moment.

I don't like my own toe nails without nail polish, don't really notice anyone else's.

Everyone who doesn't like feet, hates seeing bare feet, always thinks they should be covered.....they're not really that different to hands when you think about it?! I can't get my head round why sooo many people have an issue with it (and I mean life in general) not just this thread

I don't.

But I do have a thing about ugly, dry, peeling cuticles, or cracked skin. These things I care about and keep on top, winter and summer alike. I can't stand my feet or hands feeling overly dry, so keep them moisturized and (on hands) use daily cuticle oil.

But care about whether or not I'm wearing polish? No. At to others' perceptions that omitting polish means a lack of care: about that I care even less.

Even so, this thread's an eye-opener. I've never in my life seen those scary, long, false toe nails pictured above. It's also not uncommon to see unkempt, overgrown cuticles with false nails once they've been on for a week or so.

Guess we all have our crosses to bear ...

Don't care about what though? I care about lots of things. The colour of my toe nails isn't one of them.

There's a difference between loving having painted toenails-I do too- and considering painted toenails the norm and unpainted one's gross.

Do what you want with your own feet, Mumsnetters. They are, after all, on the end of your legs.

But please - for the love of all that is kind, good and lovely in this world - don't inflict them on innocent by-sitters on flights. Keep them off other people's seats and armrests. And FFS put it away.

Other people already in uncomfortably close proximity don't want to share your trotters at even closer quarters. They REALLY don't!

If you can't stand bare feet with native toenails in sandals ( sensible for a flight ) don't fly and get sone support or counselling

Yes, naff. And I don't know why other women my age don't realise coloured nail varnish can be incredibly aging too.

Clear or light pink/natural is the way to go and the way I've done it for yonks. Plus I don't usually paint my toe nails Autumn/Winter. They need to breathe and have a rest! ;)

Key thing is, regardless, please don't do coloured nail varnish. Or even worse, those who have images painted on their nails.

Really thick dry cracked heels in sandals look worse than unpainted nails.

Totally agree, never paint my fingernails but ties have to be painted if I’m show 🤣
