They're all self absorbed twits who think protesting pollution by creating more pollution is clearly a genius way to get the governments attention......but of course they're not inconveniencing the government (something tells me they wouldn't dare), they're inconveniencing working class people just trying to get by in a cost of living crisis and the government has proven time and time again that they don't particularly give a shit about us. And of course we have the idiots on this thread who think that killing a couple of babies is magically going to clean the air up and stop the deaths of 30000? It won't. The statistic just goes up to 30002
......such a compassionate person. I am not a violent person but frankly if any of those protesters get run over and seriously hurt or worse - I'd feel no sympathy for them whatsoever, they've proven what sort of scum they are.

DP and I were discussing the JSO people earlier. There's something wrong (well obviously!) but they seem drugged or hypnotised, unfocused. I feel like there's something else going on here.

Tell me, do you believe everything you read in the press - and in the gutter press specifically? Do you never think ‘oh, that person may have made that up for a reason’? As I said, if I had been that woman I may well have said the same thing even if it wasn’t true. I wouldn’t sit patiently in my taxi clocking up a massive fare just because some oil protester decided today was a good day to block my journey. I’d have said anything to get him to move. If I’d actually had a sick baby in the car I most likely would have dragged him out of the way by his high viz vest in order to get through.

My baby stopped breathing in a Brue event and I had to rush him to hospital in my arms floppy and blue.

Without a doubt I would have run them over.

Good for her even if she didn't have a baby in the car to be honest. There will undoubtedly be people stuck in the tailbacks who for various reasons feel unable to advocate for themselves and wouldn't feel confident to approach them to say they need to get through.

Even if the 'baby' she had in the car was a puppy and she was trying to take it to the vets, even if she lied and was on her way to her mates house for coffee and a gossip, ( which I don't believe because I can hear the fear in her voice) it doesn't matter. She told them she was taking a sick baby to hospital and they did not move.

Like I've said on this thread before, if you are going to plan a potentially dangerous protest you need to have a plan in place. They risked a child's life for nothing, because very few people are now supporting them.

My newborn baby coughed up blood. I was told to take him immediately to A & E. I sat in the back of the car with him shaking as I held his tiny hand. I will never forget that journey or the terror I felt that night. Anyone on this thread defending these morons or trying to argue that mum and baby could have got to the hospital using public transport is an absolute disgrace.

I dont believe anyone assaulting these idiots or running over their foot should be charged. I saw footage today of a man being detained for pushing them. He shouldn't have been. It's their own stupid fault.

I believe they are told to not engage and to not react to anything. The one or two main guys at each demonstration will react, like the lady trying to stop the motorbike driving through. However the rest are told to just walk slowly.

What really annoys me is the level of hypocrisy.
They wear plastic and leather. When they stopped traffic in Canterbury a while back I asked them why they where wearing leather. No one seemed to appreciate the hypocrisy or tbh understand what I was talking about.

I've watched a lot of the videos and they all seem (mostly) to be intent on not making eye contact with the public, staring into the distance, and refusing to communicate at all with anyone having a go at them.

The only time I've seen anyone 'react' is when a car nudges them and then the keep turning to watch their backs.

I detest them as they are passive aggressive and know that if anyone shows violence towards them, they will be in the wrong.

Look at that women some months ago who nudged them with her big SUV as she was trying to get her child to school. She got a conviction yet these idiots got away with nothing.

I hope someone sets up a group to disrupt them. I'd support that.

They did , last week- but it was a one-off. Another group circled them and 'kettled them' onto the pavement.
