Friend topless in front of DH

Went to a friend's house - just her, me and DH. I went to the loo. When I came back in the room, she was breastfeeding her 8-month-old.

She'd removed whole top and bra on both sides, so was topless, with the non-feeding boob not covered up by baby. DH was doing a decent job of keeping his eyes on her face though 🤣

AIBU to think that's a bit odd?

I know I can't ever comment to her. Just wondered what to make of it privately, especially since she's always been a wee bit flirty with DH.

But I've never breastfed... so maybe this is normal, or maybe I'm just a prude. Would you breastfeed alone with a friend's DH? And if so would you cover up more than this?

It's not normal to feed like that in front of guests. op, her friend, sure. Not in front of OP's husband. That is weird.

Breasts dont magically be some unattractive. Some respect for other people is good. I was always able to feed perfectly well by taking boob from underneath, and using baby's body to cover the rest.

Plus you're missing out that she flirts with the DH.

Oh come on everyone, I’m all for women not hiding away breastfeeding, for it to be normalised and not of note, but pretending there’s nothing even slightly weird about a flirty friend waiting until she’s on her own with her friend’s husband to strip off her top and bra and feed her eight month old, leaving her other boob out while she does it…?! You think that’s ‘normal’ behaviour? Come off it. 😂

Super odd. I think I once saw a woman with both boobs out, at a BF support group and even that I noticed as unusual (although if ever there’s a place to do it that’s it of course!) I would
say I’ve spent over 4 years of my life BF and never had the need to do it like this in front of company.

Breastfeeding is natural, nothing shameful, agree with all that. But there seems to be something rather exhibitionist about it. Stripping to the waist when there is no apparent need to have both boobs out at once, doing the undressing part when OP is out of the room and DH is present, and the history of flirting. Can I ask OP, does friend have what might generally be considered "nice tits"? I say generally because there is a degree of subjectivity but round pert breasts are more likely to catch the male gaze than, say, pendulous/veiny/saggy ones. Just wondering if there is an element of "look at ME showing my FANTASTIC TITS off to YOUR HUSBAND and you can't say anything because I'm breastfeeding. Is your friend's flirting a bit showy offy usually?

I breast fed both my kids and no way would I feel the need to do this . I used to to pull side up that was needed and even with big boobs nothing was on display . All very odd

To be fair, my friend did and openly admits it. She absolutely cringes inside out now and blames her hormones and her (very weird) ex-husband who fetishised BF but who wouldn’t go anywhere near her, just wanted to watch. 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢 He was disgusting.

Well tbh, Ive no issue with bf but to do that is really a bit much and unnecessary.

Yes, definitely and not just a 'niche' or a kink either. Interest in actual breastfeeding might be a kink, but interest in seeing women's breasts is obviously more common.
Some of you need to see a particular scene is Les Valseuses as well as the one from Angels and Insects when the husband walks past the wet nurse.

I don't know if she does this in other places! She doesn't live in the same town as us (is old friend of us both from university days), so we hadn't seen her previously with the baby.

Don't have much to add to discussion that is on point but this thread reminded me I stopped breastfeeding in public when DS started shouting "I WANT THEM BOTH" and pulling the other one out of my bra while feeding.

Is she with the babys dad? I can't imagine anyone would be so brazen as to get their boobs out to impress a man while his wife was there.

OMG, I had a friend who did exactly this. When I have mentioned this on threads before, no one ever believes me. She would strip to the waist and feed, with all on show. She WAS doing it on purpose. She always thought that her boobs were her biggest asset, and in fairness they were. Pre baby ALWAYS flaunting them, bending over, showing cleavage and had made several bitchy comments about how great her boobs were compared to my small "boy like" body. I am 99% sure that she actually slept with my then husband as well.

2 babies later and her boobs looked like tennis balls in socks. And I got a boob job, HA!

I don't think the 'in your own home' argument stands here either. There's plenty of things I would do in my own home that I wouldn't do in front of a guest.

If that's her feeding preference, surely she'd excuse herself briefly?

Presumably at 8 months old the baby is eating actual foods for their main nourishment and not relying solely on breast milk, so I think your friend was being very weird and I wouldn’t be too impressed if she was my friend.

Would I have done this? Errrr no. Would I have been irritated to walk in a room to find my friend with her breast out infront of my DP. I think I’d have thought in inappropriate yes and seen It as a cue to keep some distance in future.

I don't know if it's just me but I think breastfeed is very unsexy to watch. I think men generally find it unsexy too... there is a baby attached. But what do I know

Totally something I’d do if I were home alone. I wouldn’t do it it in front of a guest, I would breastfeed but keep the unused boob under a t shirt
