£600 Taylor Swift tickets?

Birdfeather · 17/07/2023 13:56

We got a Taylor Swift code to try and purchase tickets for our daughters/friends.

The two dates we chose (in advance) to use our code against to try and get tickets, went on sale today.

Despite being in waiting room as soon as I was able and being 5600ish in queue once the sale
room opened, by the time my number came round I could not secure tickets.

Well that’s a lie - I could if I wanted to spend £300 or £600 on a VIP package.

AIBU or does that just price out the average fan? Or am I still living in the past remembering how £25 for a NKOTB ticket was expensive?!

I should add, the two sales were both today - the first this morning and I was in the sale room within 26 mins. The second and I was in the sale room within 19 mins.

There are still £600 and £300 tickets left now.

I suspect it won’t be long before some of the highest price VIP are reduced.
the few who were happy to paid them have spent their money and there is still so much demand for normal price tickets.
I’ve seen TikToks of anfield showing clear lines where the vip begins (all available but nothing else)

They won't reduce ticket prices. It's not how the industry works, especially for an event as high profile as this.

Someone will buy them eventually, even if they sell a bit slower.

I can understand your perspectives, but I guess part of it is demand, and part of it being capitalism.

I got an email to say I was on the wait list for 2 different sales and never got invited.
For my sale, and the one a friend had the day before it looked like VIP was available but once you clicked through it said sold out.

You didn’t even have to buy the album. You could register at that time for a code for the presale without buying the album.

My DD did but the album, and got tickets last week at £85 each (Inc all fees).
Two of her friends also easily got tickets last week too.
Seems fair, they had bought the album and are Taylor Swift fans.

I had a similar experience - bought the album, used the code. Bought tickets for me and DD no issues.

If anyone is still looking for tickets various hospitality packages now seem to be coming out

With this site you are still looking at around £600 for the Wembley dates however that is including accommodation which seems to be quite difficult to come by

i have gone ahead and bitten the bullet as cannot deal with having to constantly keep checking for ticket availability over the next year 😂

For anyone looking for accommodation, I have an apartment on Booking.com for the June Wembley dates (Friday - Sunday) that I booked at a bargain price and no longer need. If anyone is interested, please dm me as I’d love it to be useful for someone else.

I don't know if people have seen this but if you check your code at random, you may be able to get tickets. I just tried for Liverpool on the Saturday night using my code and got two good seats tickets for £160 each which is what my friend paid (with a Midnight's code).

Also I've heard that there is going to be another release on 2nd August. May just be a rumour

Dementedmaw · 30/07/2023 00:38

I’ve been checking Liverpool randomly but they’re still £662 every time ☹️

Meggie2008 · 30/07/2023 11:42

I got two Edinburgh seats on Thursday for £180 each, looks like good seats as well. This was on AXS, I just randomly checked on my lunch break and they were there
