Why do men walk around with their hands down their trousers.

It's disgusting and I see it all the time.

AIBU to think something should be said and done about it?

I’m watching a film and they’re doing it because their hands are cold

I had to find this thread.

I'm at a sport club and a man (in a grey tracksuit) has been standing for 20 minutes with his hand down his trousers. His partner was standing next to him.

What the fuck? Why are men doing this, it's completely in appropriate to stand outside doing this.

Vile dirty bastards.

Doesitmakeadifference · 20/07/2023 18:14

Felt a strong urge to go over to him and ask if he had an sti and if as his Willy itchy.

Dirty fucker.

Why did you wake up an old thread to use that word?

SugarMiceInTheRain · 02/01/2024 18:13

I see it a lot amongst the tracking bottoms brigade at the college where I work. It is disgusting. I will just straight up tell them to take their hands out their trousers whilst they're talking to me. Or, if it's a student I know has a sense of humour I'll say 'It's not going to fall off you know!'

Yet I can't help but feel that negates the issue that people should be able to wear, within reason, what they want. Imagine somebody telling a young woman to stop getting the short shorts out of her crack or to stop yanking her mini skirt down. I think we would see some double standards

What are you talking about. Their hands are next to their dicks for extended periods of time

And breeches

Not necessarily - I've read a contemporary description of Gaston, duc d'Orleans, who was born in 1608 (Louis XIII's obnoxious brother) as constantly having his hand fiddling in his breeches. And doesn't the term pocket billiards often refer to this nasty male habit, too?

Echoing a couple of previous posters, my relative used to work in a prison and said it originates from prisoners being given jogging bottoms with no pockets and so putting their hands down the waistband instead and quite often when I see people do it they are the undesirables that have definitely spent time in prison. Haven’t seen anyone in a suit doing it though (thank god)

No, men have spent their time fondling themselves in public for centuries at least.

Deborah54 · 10/03/2024 08:04

Its revolting 🤢
I don’t understand why they do it 🤔. In my 54 years I’ve never met a bloke with a detachable dick. Total eww.

Frumpitydoo · 10/03/2024 08:08

It's what all the 'road men' do, innit? I just laugh at them quite openly. Tinky winky fiddling should only be done in privacy.

Pussycat22 · 10/03/2024 08:13

I've never noticed this but will be compelled to look now!!! Confucius says " man with hole in pocket feels cocky all day"!
