Boris Johnson ‘has forgotten’ passcode for phone wanted by Covid inquiry | Covid inquiry | The Guardian

It's like getting blood out of a stone.
First he was late to supply the messages.
Then he forgets his passcode.

I am sure there are ways to get in to it.

Conflating three issues

  1. method of communication (WhatsApp)

  2. how policy decisions were made, internal discussions about them, options considered, the process by which the government decided to enact policy

  3. the actual policy decisions that emerged from this process i.e. we should do lockdowns of xyz severity at abc time

Some people in this thread think the inquiry should be focused on 2, I think it should be focused on 3.

If the enquiry wants to learn what happened, to avoid repeating the same mistakes in a future pandemic, it absolutely needs to understand the decision making processes and culture.

Nearly every public enquiry in my lifetime has uncovered a rotten culture at the heart of the decision making.

It's most probably one of his (many) children's date of birth, but he's got so many he can't remember which one!

Well, I have to say @Middlelanehogger , you've won me over me.

Your pages and pages of dogged persistence telling us what to think, constantly shifting grounds of argument, distractions about Matt Hancock's love life, and generally treating us like idiots, really has convinced me.

There's something on that phone Johnson and the government are absolutely desparate to hide.

No doubt he’ll have had so many “burner “ phones that it would be impossible for him to keep track of all the passwords.
Quite believable in his case.
😉😁😁😁

What, and MI5 aren't capable of unlocking it for him?

This. But being the liar he is he still gets a free pass. If it was an ordinary person with terrorist or sexual data you can bet it would be unlocked in minutes

Doesn't the MP for mid-Bedfordshire have a book to finish?

A spokesman said technical experts had now "successfully recovered all relevant messages from the device".

It's up to Baroness Hallett to decided which messages are relevant, not sure she will be happy.
