I also going to throw northern Spain into the mix. Stunning

Yes! The area around the wine region is stunning.

South of France - Occitaine.

We've been staying in Perpignan and Collioure this week, which are both beautiful. Now on a train to Sete from Perpignan. Sete is gorgeous - an old fishing town set over a series of canals and nestled between a mountain and the Med.

I’ve been to 95 countries and I think Scotland more than holds its own. So many beautiful areas there. Each country has its own beauty, we’re so lucky these days to be able to travel and see places!

Too crowded and busy. Spent hours crawling in and out of St Tropez, Cannes Monaco one spring Tuesday out of holiday time and vowed never to return.
Boggle Hole youth hostel is perfect for cobbled street harbour vibe 🥰

A lot of European schools give two weeks off for Pentecost, plus 3-4 other bank holidays in May (this year, for example, almost every weekend was a long weekend). There are also big events like the Cannes film festival and the Monaco Grand Prix in May, both of which draw massive international crowds, so spring can be very busy for the region even though it might be outside of British school holidays. You really need to triple check what else is happening in the region and who has school holidays before booking. Outside of those times, it is often very pleasant and not busy. We were there a few weeks ago, and not once did we get stuck in a traffic jam or have trouble finding a place to eat in a restaurant. We go every year and this has always been our experience.

It is a beautiful and thoroughly enjoyable region, definitely worth visiting. You just have to be picky about when you go.

A small town called Kabak in Turkey. There is a place called the Olive Garden there with an infinity pool and tiny little wooden cabins housing jacuzzi baths overlooking the most spectacular view of mountains and clear blue sea. Its the most beautiful place I have ever been

Oh yes I have a lot of glassware from Biot. The restaurant next to a Verrerie de Biot is lovely.
