To think Kate is truly picture perfect

I mean - who looks that good in all their photos. She’s just so beautiful and incredibly photogenic! Not to mention extremely good at tennis, all other sports and everything else in between. William could not have chosen a better wire!

The Princess of Wales, 41, was cheering on the Prince, 41, as he took part in the Out-Sourcing Inc. Royal Charity Polo Cup 2023 at the Guards Polo Club in Windsor this afternoon.

Both wives remind me of Diana.
Kate with her slim stylish clothes horse angle.
meghan with her personality traits (at least the public ones)

Wire is the right word. So bloody thin.

I think she's really dull and colourless.

I wonder why she is so thin. It isn’t genetic as she was more voluptuous a few years ago. Her lovely face deflects from the thinnness. Her clothes very subtly conceal just how thin she is. A friend of mine met her quite a few years ago when she visited a MH facility where she worked. She said that she was very nice but that she didn’t seem ok at the time and they all thought she might benefit from their services.

I suppose picture perfect doesn’t really tell us anything about her. We have no clue about what struggles she may be enduring as her job is to make it look as though everything is…well, perfect.

Oh the press definitely will turn on her in time. When it suits them. And the public will fall for it.

She’s a woman in the RF. Every single one of them has to be rinsed in fire through the media at some point based exclusively on their sex. Until they reach an age where their looks are no longer relevant and their age means anything they say or do becomes ‘as funny posh old lady’ material. The men tend to come under more judgement as they age but as we’ve seen with another male royal, even the most inexcusable behaviour gets brushed off without much consequence.

Brefugee · 07/07/2023 08:16

i always think her make-up looks to heavy, nude-look make up (eyes in particular) would make her look less pinched i think.

Aside of that? Clothes hang well on (v)slim women. If you are slim and can afford nice clothes you'd look good too. (not to say non-slim women don't look good, but we're talking about Catherine here)

Gerrataere · 07/07/2023 08:19

I wonder why she is so thin.

Oh I could take a very good guess but I don’t want to be banned for my thoughts. I don’t think it’s because of her MH though, or certainly I don’t think that would be the root cause.

brunettemic · 07/07/2023 08:19

I’m sure she’s lovely but she looks like she could do with a good meal or maybe even 20.

meddysam · 07/07/2023 08:19

I wonder why she is so thin

The pressure from the press must be insane.

BartholemewHolmes · 07/07/2023 08:19

She looks great but you’ve over egged it op and she’ll get loads aimed at her on the thread

Nogbadthebad · 07/07/2023 08:19

These posts always seem to be started in a faux, wide eyed manner, oh, isn't Kate beautiful etc, to elicit hatchet job comments about every facet of her being.

It's works like a charm every time Hmm

BadNomad · 07/07/2023 08:20

Thepeopleversuswork · 07/07/2023 08:13

I’m not sure they will: her genius is I think that she’s learned the lesson and is incredibly canny about not putting a foot wrong. She has observed the women who have gone before her and is determined not to give anyone anything to use against her.

And I don’t blame her for this; I think it’s very smart. She’s played the grim hand she has been dealt really really well.

I just find it breathtaking that so many people see this as “elegant” and “classy”. It’s anything but classy to be a beautiful, blank, mute trapped animal. It’s desperately sad.

And yes she and her children will never want for anything. But the quid pro quo is that she is walking around with a permanent injunction against her personality. I think it’s a pitiful existence.

She doesn't need to do anything "wrong". They can twist anything. They could go after her weight ("She's a bad influence/anorexia numbers rising"), they could go after her schedule ("72-year-old Princess Anne carried out XXX-number of engagements, whereas the 41-year-old future Queen only did XX"), they could go after her for the attention she gets ("Kate steals the spotlight again at event for others") etc. It's what sells.

Countdowntowinter · 07/07/2023 08:21

Diana was equally stick thin at points when married. The pressure of the press, everyone around them must be hard.

She seems lovely mum and wife and naturally that means people will try to tear her down. Negative towards someone who has done nothing wrong really and yet some are protective over people who lie/cheat and commit crimes it's odd.

I don’t think anyone has anything against her personally though. It’s the awful cult of her worship that gets me.

I do find the pile one about her weight to be very unpleasant.

pawsbaws · 07/07/2023 08:23

I really don’t care about Kate or any of them, but I have to speak up. “Painfully thin”?!!! She’s very much a healthy weight. I suspect that’s fat normalisation operating here amongst MNers.

Rosietheravisher · 07/07/2023 08:24

I read an article by Germaine Greer once who said that Kate is far more interesting and intelligent than the press conveys. She has a keen interest in and knowledge of art history and goes to exhibitions in private and seeks out gallery owners and engages them in well informed intellectual conversations. But the misogynist press just wants us to coo over her looks and her frocks.

Thepeopleversuswork · 07/07/2023 08:24

@BadNomad

Maybe. But I think what motivates the extreme blandness is her terror of giving anyone any reason to dislike her.

As far as her public image goes she is the ultimate people pleaser.

golddustwomen · 07/07/2023 08:25

I think she's beautiful.

StillWantingADog · 07/07/2023 08:25

I think she clearly has a team of people who are paid to make her look fabulous at all times

she will have also been coached on how to appear “charming”

I’m sure that’s true and she clearly is intelligent. Which is why it’s all the more depressing that people just bang on about her weight, her ability to wear clothes and her “elegance”.

ArcaneWireless · 07/07/2023 08:28

@JenniferBarkley

No. Seriously, read the thread. This was not posted to favour Kate, it was posted to encourage others to slate her.

All day long.

And disappointingly, folk fell for it. Again.

Solonomi · 07/07/2023 08:29

If I had access to the most expensive private healthcare, hairdressers, stylist, beauticians, aesthetic doctor, food, gym and instructor, swimming pool, wonderful holidays abroad and didn’t really work I could look like that too… perhaps.

Am sick of seeing her and threads like these when I’m desperately trying to stay afloat financially.

anotherside · 07/07/2023 08:29

No idea what she’s like as a person but giving up a life of freedom, adventure and possibility at every juncture for a never ending series of manicures, ceremonies, two minute chats with randoms and photoshoots is my idea of hell. There’s no wardrobe big enough to compensate.

IncompleteSenten · 07/07/2023 08:30

I feel sorry for her.
The pressure she must be under to always be, as you put it, picture perfect must be horrendous.

It's not a job I could do I know that. I'd crack up.

MyrtlethePurpleTurtle · 07/07/2023 08:31

Another Caroline Bingley here 🤭

I'm really not sniping, I'm old enough to be her grandmother, but consider that the camera is said to put 8 pounds on someone. She's way too thin. She reminds me too much of Dianna to rejoice that another young woman is being made to feel that she had to be "picture perfect".

🙄

Mapples · 07/07/2023 08:33

I think cultivating a particular public image and then having the rest of yourself for your private life and for loved ones and people you actually meet and know is healthy really. I don't think it's being dishonest or whatever, it's that her 'duties' are essentially work and a fair few of us probably conduct ourselves a bit differently when working and when comfortable at home. I would rather people who didn't know me commented on superficial stuff like my clothes than make judgement on me as a person to be honest.
