I mean - who looks that good in all their photos. She’s just so beautiful and incredibly photogenic! Not to mention extremely good at tennis, all other sports and everything else in between. William could not have chosen a better wire!

Kate is every inch the proud wife to support William at polo match

The Princess of Wales, 41, was cheering on the Prince, 41, as he took part in the Out-Sourcing Inc. Royal Charity Polo Cup 2023 at the Guards Polo Club in Windsor this afternoon.

Stepford Wife.

God is this thread still going?😂coming back to see how many people quoted my observation of jealousy and tried to intellectualise their bullying is hilarious. I can't imagine what you're like as colleagues, friends and god forbid mother in laws if you have sons. Kate is phenomenal, she's classy, beautiful, educated and drama free despite the constant nastiness and criticism following her around as shown on this thread. To me that is a role model. It would be so easy for her to throw a strop or change herself because of what nasty women say and she doesn't and that is exactly what I aspire to be like in life :)

Blossomtoes · 07/07/2023 20:43

She’s never put a foot wrong. I have huge admiration for her.

It's not difficult when she's never actually done anything.

She had a few years of wearing completely unsuitable outfits, not appropriate for her position in legal engagements, but apart from that. The perfect Stepford Wife, smile, nod and don't let any thought trouble your little head.

Not being allowed to voice any opinions because she has to Keep Up Appearances.

I agree. The level of scrutiny she's under would drive me mad
She's remained dignified throughout.

ArcaneWireless · 07/07/2023 20:52

Isn’t feminism all about leaving women the fuck alone to be who they want to be, provided they’re not hurting anyone else?

You’d think.

Oh, I'm sure she's got plenty of opinions. She just chooses not to share them with the general public.

You haven't said what she has done that makes her phenomenal. Being "classy and beautiful" is not something that I find inspiring in women. It doesn't take any guts or daring. I don't even dislike her, but she doesn't do anything that could be called "phenomenal".

The concept of a royal family hurts me and many others. I don't agree with it.

Exactly. There’s a rod of steel down that woman’s spine, she’s nobody’s push over.

ArcaneWireless · 07/07/2023 20:57

I get that some don’t agree with a royal family.

I don’t see how that goes hand in hand with a pile on to tear a woman down.

Eh?

Posing in front of the paps in wet white bikinis on many occasions, and repeatedly showing your butt in public is not terribly lady-like.

Once, it's a wardrobe malfunction. Every week? bit much. I am not sure the word "classy" was ever used to describe her then.

Women aren't exempt from criticism just for being women. I'd tear down Charles if there was a thread about him!

Keykat · 07/07/2023 21:01

Kate is a woman like most of us here are. She is working when we see her photographed. She has a role, that's it. We are only allowed to see her public persona at all times. Her private life is hers to do as she pleases. Otherwise she has to play safe and represent us in her role as P of W and future Queen.

I just wish she would wear a dress that is not up to her neck, flouncy, or just a tad too long. Is it ok to say that?

MyrtlethePurpleTurtle · 07/07/2023 21:03

Dotjones · 07/07/2023 11:04

She's perfect yes. Her perfection is amplified by the flaws of many of the women who've married prominent royals over the last 42 years.

42?

Difference of opinion on what makes someone phenomenal I suppose. In my view phenomenal is making the absolute best of oneself as she has. She didn't pick the circumstances she was born into but has made fantastic decisions and ultimately is leading a good life because of it. Her beauty isn't just skin deep although she is naturally stunning, she presents herself wonderfully and has a glow about her. I don't know how I'd cope if I was a spectacle for everyone, even other women to oggle at and judge, she could be out in public at a public engagement event, have her photo taken and then it get ripped apart by other women in forums like this. I'd have crumbled by now and she hasn't, which for a sensitive soul like me who can't stand bitchiness is phenomenal, I aspire to be like her & I think she's fantastic. I equally don't value the idea of, or admire women who think you have to have controversial opinions, lead a troubled life or in some way battle through it and put down others to be phenomenal. You also don't have to struggle or achieve something huge to be phenomenal, but I know some people do think phenomenal means this and that's fine just so long as it isn't a comparison to mock women who are happily existing for doing so. It shouldn't be a competition.

pimlicopubber · 07/07/2023 21:07

Daily Mail is one of the tabloids that work very closely with the RF. I feel like they purposefully choose pictures that flatter her. She is beautiful, but everyone has unflattering pictures.
I've seen a few of those in the US tabloids (as well as the gossip about Prince William cheating etc, which also didn't make it to DM).

Diana had all of that except the decent family of origin which admittedly counts for a lot. It is a gilded cage.

I thought Diana came from a dysfunctional family. Plus she had a cheating husband . Not the stuff dreams are made of

Skirt malfunction happened what, twice? She's been photographed wearing a bikini while on holiday - intrusive paparazzi shots, not 'posing', not 'many occasions'. Misogyny at its finest. Well done you.

A random example I just quickly found:

These are pictures of her smiling, fully made up, she is still very pretty but doesn't look as "picture perfect" as on the other pics.

Not sure I said that in my post. I didn’t say she should be exempt from criticism just because she is a woman.

If someone has done something despicable or unforgivable, folk can (and should) fire away.

It just seems there doesn’t seem to be that much of an excuse to have a go.

It isnt to do with ‘being kind’ or anything like that. It just seems to be everything to do with trying to out-cunt others.

The OP was the dog whistle to start this rolling and so many obediently trotted along to have a pop.

It wasn’t a gushing praise-be OP. It was someone with a clarty spoon in a cauldron of shite.

Pigstrotter · 07/07/2023 21:15

Kate’s a real plain Jane who you wouldn’t look twice at if she wasn’t married to Bill.
