Husband binned my online order

I have an 8 month old and have had insomnia for a long time beforehand. Lately my sleep has gotten so bad after my baby had a few weeks of terrible sleep. I think maybe it’s because I got used to waking up so often that I’m constantly on edge even though he is only waking up like once sometimes twice now and goes back to sleep quite quickly.
I’ve constantly got headaches and am struggling to get through a few hours during the day without crying and having bad eye pain (I have had my eyes checked and have a new prescription for glasses).

so I’ve brought some otc sleeping tablets from an online pharmacy. It was a tracked delivery so was delivered today and signed for by my husband. He has hidden or binned them and not said a word to me about it.
Now I understand he is probably mad as I have had mental health issues in the past where I have abused sleeping tablets. But that was a long time ago and I would never do that again as I want nothing more than to be there for my family. Plus I need to tend to my son during the night so I’d only take half a pill just to get me off to sleep when things get really bad.
I literally don’t know what else to do to sleep as I fear I’m gonna get really Ill if I don’t take some sort of action.

Am I being silly?

Op speak to your GP buying pills online isn't a good idea. You need to get to bottom of why you have these headaches etc. Look at things like your hormone levels, could you have post natal depression, check if you are anaemic etc. Enough vitamin d etc. I think your husband has done the correct thing. Talk to him.

Genuine question, has anyone saying speak to a GP had any actual success with insomnia? I've tried multiple times, often in tears due to the lack of sleep and they have been entirely useless, the most help I get is being told to take a nice bath before bed

No. I have now had insomnia for years. I usually sleep only when I can no longer stay awake.

When I try and go to bed like a normal person, at normal hours, my mind just whirls with all sorts of things, like what needs to be done in the house, debt, children and grands, the past. I have tried a couple of different sleeping pills but nothing has worked. If I only take it once in a while, Benadryl will help, but only for a night or two, before my minds goes off unto the journeys it travels.

I just bought the insomnia book a PP mentioned. Am also going to look into the "noise" apps, like green noise. I need to do something because we are supposed to go on a nice vacay in a month and my sleeping half the day and be awake all night will not make it a fun trip.

Yeah I've had insomnia for about 15 years and nothing helps either. Brown noise works a bit for me but in general I'm just always exhausted

@Nanaof1 and @OnlyFannys - have you tried the Feather and Down cream with magnesium, camomile and lavender in it? I had tried everything else - pillow sprays, magnesium supplements, other supplements, over the counter and prescription sleeping tablets, white noise, milky drinks, audiobooks, and the only thing that helped even slightly was the audiobooks, but even that didn't last.

I finally tried the body lotion from F&D, and it works! Not only did it work initially, but several weeks in, it is still working. I can fall asleep in 20 minutes or so, and if I do wake up again (usually when my audiobook cuts off at 60 minutes), I drop off again without too much trouble.
