So my (usually very sensible and boring self) has recently discovered that I have a first class degree…
which coincided with some excellent offerings from Glastonbury so I woke up drunk today. DS was delighted to find he had a slice of farmhouse cake for breakfast before DH took him to school. I’ve decided that I must spend the morning watching ‘Withnail and I’ which is proving to be an excellent choice while experiencing a ‘bastard behind the eyes’ and I ‘feel unusual’. Anyone else absolutely love this film ?

There’s no other option. When deaths icy breath falls on your neck and your liver is screaming at you, this movie is the medicine which puts it all back in perspective. I’ve been a grown up for years and hangovers are absolute hell now , but looking back to the hellscape that was my twenties, and praying for life on the M1 makes it all seem like a walk in the park. It’s fun to revisit this culture once in a blue moon while firmly residing in the arena of the sensible parent. It’s a few short hours now.
