AIBU to think Rishi Sunak is actively trying to piss off the entire country?

Or does he genuinely not get it?

Every time he speaks he seems further detached from reality. His interview today was insanely out of touch.

Got a mortgage? Stuffed

Work in the public sector? Stuffed.

Rent your home? Stuffed

Live in a small town? Stuffed

Supported Brexit? Disaster

Not to mention the Johnson honours scandal and Liz Truss.

AIBU to think the only people happy are his fellow super rich?

They're wasting all this money and wrecking our tourism and hospitality industry to make Suella's dream come true.

They really are hateful cunts.

All Tories, and most MPs, are over privileged out of touch wealth cocooned twats who've mostly never done a day's actual work in their lives. I don't think Starmer is the Messiah or even a good alternative, but when this bunch of venal Tory fuckwits are finally kicked out and all their supporters are either dead or, in the case of most of the red wall, have rediscovered their single brain cell, I hope we never see another Tory government in my lifetime.

We will, of course, as generally people are stupid and uncaring and let the red tops and the Daily Heil and the Boris Broadcasting Corpse do their thinking for them.

I never thought I'd see a government worse than that of that demon Thatcher, but I was wrong. Rish! and his cabal don't just live on another planet, it's more like a parallel bloody dimension.

This in spades! I never believed that we could see worse than Thatcher in my lifetime, but here we go. People's selfishness and plain inability to think of anyone else have caused this as it's down to Brexit and the Tories. It's insane that people vote for them, they are thieves, and they are literally grabbing everything before they are turfed out of Downing Street. I really despair for the future to be honest. I genuinely think we are all doomed.

There's also the billions that Liz's Trussterfuck economics cost.

There is no end to the incompetence, corruption and recklessness of the Tory government.

Again, that was an ideology, not a policy.

We need to remember there really were some firms that went bust rather than hire women.

Regarding the question how to tax wealth. Here are six wealth tax policies that would raise up to £50 bn a year https://www.taxjustice.uk/blog/six-wealth-tax-policies-to-raise-50-billion

Also regarding the arguments that millionaires would leave the country: Norway has a wealth tax. So far 30 millionaires have left Norway. That's a tiny, tiny proportion of the overall number of Norwegian millionaires. The vast majority are staying put. A lot of wealthy people want to do right by their country - and for the tiny minority which doesn't maybe they aren't really those who help a country thrive in the first place.

This is a useful list thanks

@TooBigForMyBoots

"Brexit."

Ah yes there is that. But to be fair the majority democratically voted to be worse off.

TooBigForMyBoots · 27/06/2023 23:04

Well they've certainly got that. Well done Brexiteers.👏 👏 👏

A lot can change within a year. I wouldn't write the conservatives off just yet.

As the year progresses the Tories will face more scandals and resignations, the British people will see more squeezes on their pockets, public services will get worse and the cost of not processing asylum seekers will rise and rise.

They can't turn it around, they are a shambolic mess.

@1dayatatime, although the idiots in the country narrowly voted to Leave, the Brext vote didn't have to happen at all. It was a disastrous gamble by Tory PM Cameron.

I think they'll lose the next GE mainly because they clearly want to disband the NHS

Dismantle really

Start with the (Bobby Kennedy) theory that 20% will vote for anything. Then take into account First Past The Post, abstainers, the uninterested, and a Labour Party in favour of Brexit. There you go. Fixed it for you.
