We are together 34 years.

Before that it was the beginning of April and we were discussing the Heineken Cup.

Married 10 years. Messaged a single word to him yesterday. “Butthead”. Sums it all up, really.

"the gardeners are back but so far only the doctor is downstairs giving them orders. I expect the bloke from next door and the bishop's brother in law will be down soon. The bloke from the petrol station is peering over the hedge"

Context. block of flats, communal garden. Gardeners been here for 2 days. All the menfolk no longer of working age are supervising. Poor gardener got into bother Thursday for hacking at a rosemary bush. We love behind a petrol station.

Even though he is upstairs wfh most days we will message throughout the day and we even lunch together. He sends me links to articles or twitter comments he has come across that he thinks I will find interesting, we do that with the children too, 20 and 17 but in a family discord group. I also send Dh stuff too, sometimes gifs of bunnies because he is a big old softie.

Together 27 years, married 24 years, he is my favourite person, kind, generous, leaves me love notes in the fridge and we have raised 2 sons to be the same way. They are lovely.

Together 21 years. Last texts were moaning about the roofer delaying again. We run a business together so texts are usually work related. Sometimes photos of fish he’s caught. We text maybe 2 or 3 times a week.

Me: did you order a mini LED inspection lamp from ebay?
Him: what?
Me: never mind, it's a footpeg!( he restores motorbikes)

DH and I what’s app a lot when we’re not together but the last thing was me telling him my civil service COL payment is hopefully going to be paid in my July wage, then him what’s apping me a picture of his leg as a friend’s dog bit him 😵. Me telling him he might need a tetanus jab and him saying he hasn’t got time to go 🙈. Usually it’s pictures of our dog sleeping 😂. Been together 17 years and married 14.

I forgot to say last night that we've been together 10 years and married for 5.

He texted me again this morning from the front door telling me to come downstairs and see something.

A snail has somehow snuck into our house and was on the inside of the front door.

Most of our conversations are via phone rather than text. He's a bus driver so I don't text when he's working in case it disturbs him (he can't mute it completely in case the managers call him) but he'll often phone me during his breaks. I don't answer the phone to anyone else so my call logs are literally pages of his name.

Eleven years. We've really stepped up the communicating recently, as you can see - for the first six years, we probably texted each other about 4 times a year.

An actual phone call, as in making the phone ring, means an utter calamity that requires immediate assistance.

We text most days about various mundane stuff. This was the last one this morning.

Last exchange was me bing miffed that yet again I’ve picked the short straw of children’s activities, I’m melting while he’s in an air conditioned cinema.

apparently it’s because I’m cheap! The cheek.

Usually "what do you want from the shop?" sort of thing, but the latest was a bit different:
"Fox was in the house😱 I left the back door open for cat to come in and went through to the computer for a minute, next thing there's claws scrabbling on the floor and the fox is running around screaming! Picked up the hoover and managed to steer it back out. Cat's fine, just startled."

DH sneezed loudly when he was tidying up before bed.

He text back apologising for being so loud.

We have been married 37 years.

I messaged him earlier today from the supermarket and to tell him about some kids clothes a saw. We message sometimes just if one of us is upstairs or downstairs though and can't be bothered to shout or go up/down stairs. We've been together nearly 15 years
