Important stuff this!

DH and I disagree about what should happen to pegs on the washing line after you've taken the washing in.

DH takes all of the pegs off, every time. He claims that if you don't do this, it creates work next time you hang stuff up because you have to move the pegs out of the way.

Obviously, I just leave them up and he thinks this is bad practice. I think taking them down creates work the next time because you have to get them all out again.

So, over to you!

YANBU = Keep the pegs up
YABU = take the pegs down every time and put them in their special little peg bag.

What say you MN? 🤔

Pegs away else they get birdshitbon them and you don’t notice it until you put your hand on it. 🤢

Ineedsleepandcoffee · 23/06/2023 22:31

They only go brittle over the winter with frost, they are fine over the summer.

Ockbrook is a village in Derbyshire

I know that! But I've never found a street that bears the village's name ...

Bellie710 · 23/06/2023 22:31

Always leave them on the line, unless it starts raining then the pegs get flung all round the garden while I try and stop the washing being drenched.

Beelezebub · 23/06/2023 22:33

‘Peg’ looks like a very odd word right now…..

ThatFraggle · 23/06/2023 22:33

*tiny spider homes

Then they lay their eggs in the gusset of your knickers.

Hedjwitch · 23/06/2023 22:34

Leave them on the line. Life is too short.
Wait...people use matching pegs??? Really?

DanceMumTaxi · 23/06/2023 22:34

I cannot believe so many people take their pegs off. Ain’t nobody got time for that 😂 Pegs stay on here.

Hmmthatsgoodchicken · 23/06/2023 22:34

Down every time. Spiders aren't making themselves at home in my new minky pegs.

BasilParsley · 23/06/2023 22:34

And I guess I have to add that, for years, I've bought wooden pegs rather than plastic ones so, when they ping away into the weeds in the unkempt areas of the garden they will biodegrade much more quickly that the plastic ones
...

justrude · 23/06/2023 22:36

Put them away! I hate cluttered lines with pegs just left to degrade in all weathers

JohnnyYenSetHimselfOnFireAgain · 23/06/2023 22:37

Definitely take the pegs off the line and store them in their peg tub indoors, that way they don't become brittle from the sunshine or dirty from the rain.

Leaving them on the line is the work of a psychopath.

MrsClatterbuck · 23/06/2023 22:38

Riverlee · 23/06/2023 21:03

I take them down and put them in a plastic tub.

Same here. Got mine from Lakeland and it came with pegs and you can actually hang it on the line.

crossstitchingnana · 23/06/2023 22:38

Washing in, pegs off, rotary line collapsed and cover put on.

JohnnyYenSetHimselfOnFireAgain · 23/06/2023 22:39

Hedjwitch · 23/06/2023 22:34

Most certainly. Any item of clothing that requires more than one peg has to have matching pegs. It's the law.

woodhill · 23/06/2023 22:41

In a peg bag and away

JohnnyYenSetHimselfOnFireAgain · 23/06/2023 22:41

DanceMumTaxi · 23/06/2023 22:34

I cannot believe so many people take their pegs off. Ain’t nobody got time for that 😂 Pegs stay on here.

But you have to remove the pegs to remove the clothing, so you're not actually creating any more work. In fact, by pegging them back on the line you're creating more work, surely?

Toddlerteaplease · 23/06/2023 22:43

Pegs away

MyBrownEyedHandsomeBoy · 23/06/2023 22:44

I take them off and put in a peg tub. I find if I leave them on, those weird long legged pencils shaped spiders attach to them otherwise eeeeee

Muddygreenfingers · 23/06/2023 22:46

I leave them on the line.

I'm not scared of tiny spiders.

If they go rusty or brittle, I buy more.

Tortiemiaw · 23/06/2023 22:47

YouOk · 23/06/2023 21:07

no pegs on the line. It's common. So said my mum and she's dead so you can't argue with her.

Ditto. Mine said it was very council'. I know, I know...

fireflyloo · 23/06/2023 22:48

My pegs never leave the line.

Liz1tummypain · 23/06/2023 22:49

Life is too short for a storage policy on clothes pegs. Leave them on the line

tossingpenniesinthepool · 23/06/2023 22:52

Oh I'm 100% with you; much to my mom's dismay.

Life is too short.

'But your pegs will be wet!!!'

Erm.... my washing is wet; that's what I'm hanging it out!

EightMonthsScared · 23/06/2023 22:52

I think we also need to know if the OP would leave drawing pins in a noticeboard 'ready for next time' if she took down an out of date notice. The pegs sound just a gateway offence frankly.

Oh yeah, 100%. What else am I going to do, put them in some kind of special container in a drawer? I'm not Mari Kondo y'know!

And also, kudos to the pp who just chucks her washing on the hedge to dry, 'like the Elizabethans'.

I feel like I love everything about you already.
