I mean the Scuttlebugging, FLY things mostly. And the thing where they always make a song out of fruit and veg.

..But also how I always manage to kill stone dead every thread I go on.

Is there a manual somewhere?

Blardy expensive great day out.

ThinWhiteDuchess · 21/02/2008 22:13

That's another thing I love -- the Pedants' Corner! Right up my street, but I have read enough posts to realise it is just bad manners to correct anyone's mistakes outside of there!

ibblewob · 21/02/2008 22:15

Monkeybird, I think your apostrophes's's's are fine?!

twospecialgirls · 21/02/2008 22:17

ThinWhiteDuchess · 21/02/2008 22:19

Oh God, I'd better go and tidy up, DH is due home shortly....here's a very quick, funny story (at least I hope you guys think it's funny). He's at Prague airport today, waiting to be able to check in as he arrived too early. I called him & he said he had just got some soup and was sitting in restaurant eating it...said he wasn't too impressed with facilities, but it was bloody cheap. Anyway, 10 mins later he calls me again laughing his head off. Said he was sitting eating his soup and slowly noticed that EVERYONE was in uniform. Turned out he had somehow managed to get into the staff canteen! PSML!!!

fluffyneedssomesleep · 21/02/2008 22:19

Squilly I like 'fredkiller' And see, you're not being ignored

I'm with Desi on the 'not fluffy' comment tho...(fluffymummy until dd came along 3 weeks ago) was originally intended in a slightly sardonic way and now I'm lumbered with a massive misnomer until I think up somegthing good...but, gawd, wouldn't it be dull if it was all hearts and flowers on here all the time?!

Princess82 · 21/02/2008 22:20

lmaooo finding the word cunt funny means you have a sence of humour?!?! oooh dear.
i think 13 year olds are the ones who giggle and find that word funny.

my sence of humour is wonderful..i just know the meaning of the word and find it degrading and just disgusting.whatever floats your boat i guess.

ooh well ive seen enough of this site to know its not for me.

Princess, the humour was in the context, not in the word itself...

Monkeybird · 21/02/2008 22:23

LL - oh god, now you've really freaked me. Am so tired I'm u-ing all over the shop but I'm sure it should be its and not it's no?

Too special, you might have known it was a joke when I told you, ten times already.

Any way, welcome to Mumsnet! All for one, and one for all

MrsBadger · 21/02/2008 22:25

and yet colourful?

god English is odd

Wotzonked · 21/02/2008 22:26

We are here to offer support for Mner's like OJ and Steve
old or new there is more the this site than swear words, you just have to look for it and understand

ibblewob · 21/02/2008 22:29

Aww Princess, don't be like that.

I love humous.

Habbibu · 21/02/2008 22:30

Isn't having a tiff with Desi a free pass to the higher echelons of MN?

Desi - you're an arse.

Desiderata · 21/02/2008 22:32

I know, Habb, but I'm a damned fine arse!

Monkeybird · 21/02/2008 22:32

Oh MrsB, you've saved my soul, I knew I wasn't just being illougical, just dealing with this damned English thing... and I'm not even American.

ibblewob · 21/02/2008 22:32

I am very at the OP who has now got 7 pages! I dream of such dizzy heights with my banal topics!

Monkeybird · 21/02/2008 22:33

And I think you'll find it's (ha!) hummus our houmous, shoooorly...

Habbibu · 21/02/2008 22:34

hellfire and damnation. Plan backfired. Will have to claw my way to upper echelons some other way if Desi won't bite.

Desiderata · 21/02/2008 22:34

Ibble ... you're alright, you are ...

Although can I re-direct you to the wall-papering section of B&Q for a cheaper alternative to humous?
