So this happened a few miles away from where I live.
Call me old fashioned but I think this is totally inappropriate and somebody should have called the police.
I have been a naturist for 40 years but the old fashioned kind who doesn't think dangling your genitals in front of families and young children who have gone for a meal is at all appropriate.
I would question why they found the need to do this. There are plenty of naturist clubs in the area.
People go to naturist clubs to get an all over tan and be a member of an organisation that usually has a pool and cheap membership.
My non naturist friends think I'm being stuffy and ridiculous am I?

Diners shocked as naked pair enjoy meal in Burnham-On-Sea pub

Diners at a Burnham-On-Sea pub say they were shocked after a naked man and woman walked into the bar and were served a meal.

My teen daughter is shocked if she accidentally sees her dad naked. She's not a prude and he's not being inappropriate but for young people this isn't a welcome thing to see.

She would be highly distressed to see a stranger especially a man naked like that.

Why should she have to? Why is her distress less important than their right to be naked in public?

So if Neil walks into my local caff with his cock and balls poking out of his flies that's OK is it?
If my son is queuing in McDonald's and Neil's missus is standing in front of him with her muff out that's OK is it?

Just trying to establish what level of nudity is now acceptable in eateries.

No, that would be perverse, sick and predatory of the male and clearly an offence. Can you really not see the difference. You have described it.

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 07/06/2023 22:30

Confusing for the kids, but they'll cope if explained.

'cope' is not what we tell children who are confused or upset.

Perhaps Neil could learn to cope with underpants.

StaunchMomma · 07/06/2023 22:34

Aside from the fact that I wish to see literally nobody's dangly bits while I'm eating, I will not sit on a bar stool that's had someone's sweaty arse on it!

Gross and ridiculously pushy, really.

VWHoliday · 07/06/2023 22:34

OneLongSmorgasbord · 07/06/2023 22:31

They get away with if by saying that they are naturists.

Neil still has his cock out around kids whatever way though.

Museya15 · 07/06/2023 22:44

I don't want to see Neil's fucking todger or his missus` fanny thanks very much, especially If I'm eating!

In both cases it is a man with his cock and balls out in a food place.
What is wrong with you?

Neil walks into Betty's tea rooms but feels he's entitled to give his cock and balls an airing.
Neil orders a teacake and a cup of Earl Grey.
Nothing predatory in his manner - he's just sitting there, in Bettys, with his cock and balls open to the elements enjoying his teacake.
How is that different to him rocking up for a meal stark bollock naked?

Justanothercatlady · 07/06/2023 23:07

we enjoy a trip to Burnham In Sea but there’s no way you’d be getting my bare arse on a chair there!!

VWHoliday · 07/06/2023 23:09

@fairywhale you need to get a grip.

Also, why arent naturist clubs good enough? Why the need to involve the clothes wearers?

Ok great, that's your own opinion. I don't completely disagree, FWIW. But our opinions don't inform what other people can or can't do as long as they're acting within the law.

You keep on and on droning on about the fact that peoples’ opinions don’t matter if something isn’t against the law.
By this blind adherence to “the law”, I can do whatever I want that the law may not happen to have thought of. I can torture a rat slowly to death in a restaurant in full view of a child if I want. In the eyes of people like you, unless “the law” specifically forbids this, other people’s opinions simply don’t count.

Legally you may be correct. But the law is not infallible - not even close - and is often clumsy, outdated or simply wrong. And can often be manipulated by people who know how to exploit loopholes. Public opinion has significant impact on changes and updates happening to the law, and rightly so.

How do we know it isn't. Plenty of women have a penis nowadays.

I have been talking about consent. It is true that these people do not need the consent of others to be naked in public. That is a cold hard fact, regardless of whether or not we like that fact.

It's not that opinions don't count, it's that opinions don't override the law in the moment. Of course if public feeling on a matter is strong and widespread, that has the potential to effect legislative change.

It's not dissimilar to various threads on here about dogs in restaurants etc. Lots of people don't like that and think it should be banned. However, people taking dogs into restaurants with the permission of the managers are not doing anything wrong, and if others don't like it then the onus is on them to find a solution.

And no, you couldn't torture a rat to death in a restaurant because that would, at the very minimum, be animal cruelty.

Famzonhol · 07/06/2023 23:23

Torturing rats is not illegal. Rat traps for example are not illegal.

However, unless I’ve missed something, no one on this thread has said that the naked couple were committing a crime. So I’m not sure why you keep going on about crimes.

VWHoliday · 07/06/2023 23:24

@Lockheart are you a lawyer? I don't agree with you but you can argue.

What happens if my boss declared we could come naked into the office but I felt uneasy with him being naked? Would I lose my job if I said I didn't want him to?

VWHoliday · 07/06/2023 23:25

Not that he would because he's not a massive twat.

A child can't consent to having an adult expose their genitals to them. An adult deliberately exposing their genitals when children are present in a place where our social convention is that people cover up their genitals is deliberately committing indecent exposure. Adults who behave like this are a risk to children's safety and should be prosecuted.

Gtsr443 · 07/06/2023 23:31

@Lockheart

So when does nudity in public become a public order offence then?

If she is menstruating and just allowing blood to run down her leg is that ok?
If a naked person bends over and their bum cheeks spread so you can see their arsehole is that ok?
If she flings a leg up on the table so her minge is on full display is that ok?

Famzonhol · 07/06/2023 23:31

Could well be a lawyer. Their tactic is often to distract from the main issue by tying everything up on an irrelevant tangent.

In this case: almost unanimous agreement that the naked couple were ignoring social norms - whether attention-seeking or as part of a fetish no one knows. But only this poster keeps going on about crimes - which no one else on the thread has mentioned afaik.

You must have missed the many posts going on about indecent exposure and implying these two are child sex abusers then...

Famzonhol · 07/06/2023 23:33

Or didn’t before Lockhart raised it but I see that @MrsOvertonsWindow has come up with a valid view on that.

Twisting peoples words as well.

They need to cover their bits up. If might not be illegal but going by this thread alone about 99% of the public don't want to see it. I don't know one single person in my life who would do it. Its weird, dirty, selfish, but not illegal.
