Most women hoover above toilet seat in public toilets to pee?

I was out this weekend and had to use the toilet to pee. I normally hoover above toilet seat to pee in public toilets and was thinking to myself this is difficult especially if I need to do a long pee🙈😂 Is this what most women do too or am I being extra germ conscious and should just wipe the seat and sit down? Sorry if tmi but I'm just curious

What disease do people think they are going to catch from putting the back of their thighs on a surface that the back of someone else's thighs have been on??

Do people not sit on benches in changing rooms or saunas either?

ghostyslovesheets · 07/06/2023 08:51

Nope - not even on festival toilets

rinseandrepeat1 · 07/06/2023 08:51

I carry a miniature antibacterial spray in my bag and normally spray the seat, wipe, then sit.

Back-of-Thigh disease? You can't be too careful!

Kiwano · 07/06/2023 08:54

I never hover, people who do and leave splashes are a total pain.

Hayfeverjogon · 07/06/2023 08:54

There was an article I read once about how you can tell the personality of someone who uses a Shewee and stores it in a bag 😂

BridgetRandomfuck · 07/06/2023 08:54

Never hover, always give the seat a wipe with toilet paper, sometimes with a dab of hand sanitiser if it looks messy. Can't stand hoverers, they ruin it for everyone else...

ThisNameIsNotAvailable · 07/06/2023 08:56

I neither hover, nor hoover. Although admittedly have hovered at Glastonbury and also on a home visit at a particular house when I’d been out all day and was desperate (I wouldn’t normally use toilets when I’m doing home visits).

justteanbiscuits · 07/06/2023 08:56

So so so grim. And I bet you're one of those women who claim that sharing a toilet with men would leave urine splashed everywhere. Nope, it's blood hoverers who leave toilets seats gross. Just wipe with tissue (or an antibac wipe if you must) and sit. Please.

PenelopeTitsDrop3121 · 07/06/2023 08:58

I've never felt the need to hover. Why? It's only everyone's backs of their legs touching the seat surely? I'm sure hovering makes more mess.

BertieBotts · 07/06/2023 08:58

I have never hovered and never caught anything from a toilet seat.

BarbaraofSeville · 07/06/2023 09:00

I clicked on this thread to see who was sucking away the 'contaminated' air above the toilet, but now see that it's just another weirdo who seems to have completely missed the point of skin, which does a damn good job of keeping germs outside the body.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but seeing as it is probably physically impossible for almost anyone to lick the back of their own thighs, I think it's safe to sit on a toilet seat, so please, just do that like a normal person.

Lollipopsicle · 07/06/2023 09:00

Bit of hand sanitiser on some loo paper, wipe the seat all the way round, and then I sit.

Tumbleweed101 · 07/06/2023 09:00

I chose one that looks clean (if I have the.option) and sit down. Never really thought on it before.

Nannyfannybanny · 07/06/2023 09:01

Why, well I have a bladder prolapse and the only way to void is to squat I don't splash or make a mess,I always check.

NC1843 · 07/06/2023 09:02

Not a hoverer. Wipe round with loo roll and a baby wipe if required, otherwise my skin does a pretty good job of keeping any nasties out, as it’s designed to do.

Nannyfannybanny · 07/06/2023 09:03

I see some one posted on the back of your legs touch the seat, how is that even possible,or are you actually hovering!!

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 07/06/2023 09:04

DH does the hoovering. Grin

I just come down on it like a ton of bricks...

lankyhanky · 07/06/2023 09:05

Having seen toilets with shit and blood smeared on them no thanks I'm not putting my skin on that! The thought of my skin making contact with random people's bodily fluids makes my skin crawl.

I hover and wipe the seat afterwards.

Dahliasrule · 07/06/2023 09:05

I hover, but only because I don’t like the thought of sitting on previous hoverers’ wee. However, I lift the toilet seat to avoid doing the same myself.

Spidey66 · 07/06/2023 09:06

I never hoover, and only hover if the loo is particularly grim....and if its that bad I'll try and go elsewhere. I agree hoverers usually splash and I'm sure I heard somewhere you're more likely to have a uti.

VivaLesTartes · 07/06/2023 09:07

Never a hoverer. But I hear about women doing it all the time and I thought I was the odd one so relieved by the responses. I'll normally give a wipe to make sure it's dry but honestly couldn't care less about my bum/leg skin.

Although I have face a couple of really grim toilets where I've had no choice 🤢

mast0650 · 07/06/2023 09:07

I don't. Sounds extremely uncomfortable to me! The toilet is where you have a nice sit down in a busy day. Sitting on a toilet seat is not going to do you any harm.

ShandaLear · 07/06/2023 09:07

Hoverers who don’t clean up after themselves are absolutely disgusting. I can’t even express how horrible it is to sit on a seat only to find yourself sitting in a complete stranger’s piss. Just sit on the seat. What do you think you’re going to catch? Some sort of thigh disease?
