Most women hoover above toilet seat in public toilets to pee?

I was out this weekend and had to use the toilet to pee. I normally hoover above toilet seat to pee in public toilets and was thinking to myself this is difficult especially if I need to do a long pee🙈😂 Is this what most women do too or am I being extra germ conscious and should just wipe the seat and sit down? Sorry if tmi but I'm just curious

When I hover if there are any drips on the seat I wipe them up. The first night in a hotel bed makes my skin crawl . Thinking of who slept here before me. I'm weird I know 😂 judging by reply's to my post

It's actually the people that hover, that make others feel the need to hover because you're probably the only ones who end up weeing on the seat! If we all just sat down normally I reckon there would be a lot less mess.

This reminds me of my grandmother in law. She always tells me about how she never sits on any toilet other than her own and will either hover or completely cover with loo roll. I find it very odd.

so she either sprays the seat for the next person or blocks to toilet with excess paper.
Nice of her.

Vividly remember my own mother doing this when I was small (and telling me to do the same). I found it odd even back then. What exactly are you going to catch on the back of your thighs?

timetorefresh · 28/02/2025 21:14

I sit. Wish people would all just sit so they don't get piss all over the seat

HappydaysArehere · 28/02/2025 22:00

My mother told me to hover. Many years after I was told at a clinic that it caused problems later and it certainly did. Couldn’t empty bladder properly and wee started to spray so had to sit firmly down after covering the seat with tissues which I place in a bin and never down the toilet.

Paper on the seat is unnecessary but whats wrong with flushing it?

XenoBitch · 28/02/2025 22:53

I have never hovered. Never caught anything by sitting on the seat either.

TheGoogleMum · 28/02/2025 23:00

I sit but I have very short legs so I'm not really tall enough to hover

Frances0911 · 01/03/2025 02:53

Either toilet roll covering the seat which is a faf, or I hover. Otherwise you are literally sitting on all sorts of bacteria. Although I don't use public toilets often, and will try to hold it in until I get home if possible.

I can't believe this thread about women hoovering public toilets has been resurrected.

It is disgusting I go in and find residual pee on the seats or on the floor!!!!!! Why not buy a pack of flash wipes and clean the seat before sitting down, for Gods sake. It makes me sick and so angry. I have to carry a big pack of domestos wipes and clean w very surface becuase of the vile toilet behaviours of some. I have to clean the door handle the seat and flush to.
Grown ASK women can't even use the toilet correctly or have the organization skills to pack some wipes.

At schools they used to say Crabs 😂

Just buy some flipping flash wioes and give it a Cowan not sure why in this day and age with the conviemce of products to use one the go people act like cavemen soiling the seat, outer bowl and floor and then ruining everyones day.
