To be intrigued what Holly is really like

Holly Willoughby

For so long I thought she was really lovely (from seeing her on tv etc)
Then I read some things on here and other sites over the years about her not being that nice and now the way things have gone over recent events with P.S, it makes her be seen in a different way.
So, what is she really like I wonder, it’s so hard to see her as anything other that lovely or want her to be anything other than lovely and I don’t know why 🤷🏻‍♀️

That monologue was so pathetic and fake. Who on earth thought it was a good idea.

Cramlington567 · 06/06/2023 22:08

Wonder if it's like that Alan Partridge comedy that ripped off 'The One Show'. The female presenters expression went from resting bitch face to brightest smile in a heartbeat when the cameras switched on.

I gather it was the big guns at ITV, and TM. They must have felt that it would be okay for Holly to address the nation, as if she were talking to a group of reception children.

Is it weird there is so much focus on her and so little on PS? He's the one that's done something wrong.

Owen Jones was saying the same thing on Twitter the other day.

ItsCalledAConversation · 06/06/2023 22:17

I think she was just knackered by it all and reading off an autocue. I don’t think she really gives a shit about her job. She seems like quite a reasonably normal person to me. I used to live quite near her and see her around (our kids were roughly the same age, going back to baby stage). She always seemed perfectly polite, slightly distracted, no airs. I think she’s fine and just needs to move jobs, not to be kicked out just to do better.

StoneofDestiny · 06/06/2023 22:17

Only seen her a handful of times on morning tv and she was the predictable shallow blonde who giggled at everything. Was never going to be more than that.
However, - saw that monologue she delivered on the news and it was awful - so fake it was puke worthy. All that hand holding junk. Gawd - take her away.

mrssilky · 06/06/2023 22:19

I don't know her but I think she's either really cold and calculating or completely vulnerable and been manipulated/bullied by PS. I just cannot work out which at the moment.
Having said that she did this weird eye narrowing thing with one of her eyes in that speech and she looked angry/upset rather than sad/upset to me.....

jc12689 · 06/06/2023 22:24

Thank god. Another Philip/Holly thread. I was worried that this would just die and people would stop talking about it.

LizzieSiddal · 06/06/2023 22:25

Has anyone seen her Wyle Moon website. Full of shite candles and perfumes so you can “smell like Holly”.
Plus lots of nonesense about star signs and astrology. I can’t take anyone seriously who believes in that rubbish.

RestingMurderousFace · 06/06/2023 22:25

Enormous ego, thinks she’s better than us peasants who aren’t on the ‘telly’.

She’s hard as nails.

kerrycgeorgie · 06/06/2023 22:27

I read an interview with Fearne fairly recently where she said they hadn't spoken in a few years, no fallout or anything, just busy with own lives.

123rainbow · 06/06/2023 22:27

She is so boring and so is This morning.

JennyForeigner · 06/06/2023 22:30

I have no interest in HW at all but weirdly lived (briefly) in a horrible flat in Ealing she had shared a couple of tenancies before.

It was just when she started to be on TV and all I can say is that the guys at the carwash downstairs thought she was great and very down to earth.

I think their stuff was still in the horrible freezer in all honesty. The horrible tiny frozen freezer above the tiny horrible fridge in the tiny horrible kitchen.

Shudders

I couldn’t care less about Holly but I always wondered why her and Phil were everywhere. Why couldn’t they get someone else to present dancing on ice? So boring having the same faces everywhere. It’s like Ant and Dec. Yawn.

One, or should that be four of the reasons I hardly ever watch ITV, as prior to the Schofield stuff, if it wasn't him and Holly presenting, it was Ant and Dec, or one or other pair interviewing the other pair. ITV always strikes me as feeding on itself, the same faces for decades, all on each other's shows in some endless cycle of self promotion. They urgently need some new talent and fresh faces.

Allfizzandfun · 06/06/2023 22:34

I imagine she’s like most people who work; you put on your best ‘face’ and get on with the job. You’re not necessarily the same person in work as you are at home or with friends. She is just doing her job. It’s glamorous and pays well and opens doors to so many other things. But you can never have an off day. So I imagine the way you deal with that is to put on a show and act the part people expect you to play.

So in conclusion, I have no idea what she’s like as a person.

Is it weird there is so much focus on her and so little on PS? He's the one that's done something wrong.

I think it's because the only way of stopping (predominantly) men who are sexual predators is for the people around them to be able to notice signs and feel supported to report safeguarding concerns. That's why in education staff are now compelled to report.

Holly raises uncomfortable questions. She obviously knew, did she think it was ok? Or did she think she'd not be supported raising a concern? I think the focus is on Holly because we're all potential Hollies, wondering how we'd deal with a similar situation. Would we do the right thing at the expense of our career? Very few of us (I hope) are potential PSs.

Grazedpad · 06/06/2023 22:36

The problem is you cared - she’s there to entertain not be nice, she’s not your mother or your friend

TheFormidableMrsC · 06/06/2023 22:36

I don't know her at all, but I have a member of my family who has known her all her life and is very fond of her. She did a very kind thing when that person's mum died and appeared to me to be very sweet and down to earth. Similarly, I have an old friend who works in the tech side of TV and has worked with her for years and is also speaks highly of her. Other than that, I know exactly nothing about her like the rest of us 🤷🏻‍♀️

TheFormidableMrsC · 06/06/2023 22:40

Hollyisalrightactuallysorry · 06/06/2023 21:48

I've socialised in the same circles as Holly over the years. One of my good friends knows her well and I've been to a few dinners/girls nights/bbqs etc where she's been there. I absolutely cannot claim to be friends with her or know her very well and obviously I don't know what she's like on TM

BUT I have always found her to be genuine, sincere, interesting to talk to and she seems to take a real interest in people. She always remembers details from the last time she met me and seems mildly obsessed with my dog which I always take as a good sign of someone's personality!

She is guarded about anything 'showbiz' and changes the subject if someone oversteps in their questions but is always polite about it. She also has quite a self deprecating sense of humour which I like

As I said, I can't claim to know her well but I feel I've met her enough times that it doesn't seem to be an act

I agree the monologue was awful and clearly choreographed and scripted but I imagine she was sort of caught between a rock and a hard place.

Doesn't match with lots of comments on here but that's my view 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is quite similar to what I've been told.

Emmamoo89 · 06/06/2023 22:40

I like her and think people need to leave her the fuck alone.

dayswithaY · 06/06/2023 22:41

Think she’s coming across like a Poundland Gwyneth Paltrow with her Wyld Moon shite. The name alone annoys me.

Bluebells1970 · 06/06/2023 22:48

Wylde Moon sounds like a toilet cleaner you'd buy from Home Bargains. It's cheap and nasty. Given she pulled the plug on the deal she had with Peter Jones and presumably losing a good friend in the process, I can't understand why she thought she could do better with this tacky shite. Truly (the company with PJ) is in serious financial trouble by all accounts, probably not helped by losing it's celebrity face so close to launching.

Tidlywinks · 06/06/2023 22:50

Shes probably got her good points and and her bad points like any other person, I don’t know her. I find all this ‘Holly is such a bad person as she must have known and therefore should loose her career’ really weird. Also the ‘she’s such a backstabber’ rubbish. Maybe she did just find out or maybe she fell out with him and struggled to work with him because she found something out.
No one knows what happened so the fixation on her rather than him (the actual person who has behaved badly is odd). I don’t often watch this morning but she a good enough presenter when she’s on it and I have no feelings towards her other than she’s going through and a rubbish time due to someone else’s actions.

I’ve no idea if she knew or just trusted a close friend but why is the focus on her rather than the person who is quite likely a groomer?
