Honestly whats this obsession with them?
Couldn't give a toss. Why are people so invested in two people who host a breakfast programme?

Just people on this planet, like we all are.

OP posts:
DreamCatcherTheThird · 28/05/2023 21:01

I've never watched them I'm out of the house from 7am until 7pm as a rule Mon-Fri. I'm bemused by it all tbh, I think the first time I became really aware of the hype that surrounds them was the queue skipping fiasco.

Pringleface · 28/05/2023 21:22

I’m sick of seeing all the threads about them, yes.

User18538754 · 28/05/2023 21:33

People seem almost excited about it, it's really weird

Mistressofpemberly · 28/05/2023 21:37

Yeah. I can’t understand the vitriol against him. He had an affair and lied about it [shrug]

User18538754 · 28/05/2023 21:37

It reminds of the threads when that poor woman disappeared earlier in the year.

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 28/05/2023 21:52

Here you go OP, I'll sum up for you:

There is a very real possibility that PS has groomed a boy from the age of 11, then had a sexual relationship with him, apparently once he was 'legal'. Hence the comment 'ill advised but not illegal'.
Think about that for a second. PS got him a job, kept him close etc. GROOMING.

It's likely that the top execs at ITV (4 of them named in the media) knew about the grooming/suspected it. ITV carried out their own investigation and found nothing to see here m'lud 🙂

How likely is it that his BEST FRIEND Holly didn't know about all this? She (and her TV producer husband) will be desperately trying to save her career now.

PS's brother is serving a 12 year sentence over child sexual offences, those that PS was aware of but didn't report to the police. Speculation that the offences were carried out against a member of their own family.

It's an absolute fucking shit show of paedophilia with cover up and is quite rightly all over the media!

femfemlicious · 28/05/2023 21:54

ME!.....I don't care about much these days...I just need money 😢

I agree with you. Unfortunately some of the “who cares”, comments demonstrates how these people get away with it. Thankfully some people do care about safeguarding young teens/adults and will make a noise about it until those in charge do something about it!

more dancing with slander & defamation on this thread

It's like Madeleine McCann. Dozens or Hundreds of cute little 3 yr old kids went missing that week (in the world), but we all only talked about ONE. That's what baffled me then. The obsession with PS-HW is some kind of we-viewers-own-ITV feeling, I suppose.

Absolutely.

Desperatetime · 28/05/2023 19:53

Where has grooming even been mentioned he had a consensual relationship with somebody of legal age so we are told.

I think this is the crux of it.

HeddaGarbled · 29/05/2023 01:34

@DannyLaRuesBestFrock

Holly is thick as fuck and got the job cos she hooked up with an ITV producer

This comment is so misogynistic.

On what grounds do you think Holly is “thick as fuck” (what a nasty expression)? She seems reasonably articulate and competent to me. She certainly doesn’t seem any more “thick as fuck” as any other presenter on similar shows. What is it specifically about Holly that deserves that description. Can you explain?

Many a professional woman has been accused of only getting jobs/promotions because they were shagging the boss. Do you think that’s likely, or do you think that’s what people who hate successful women say to put them down?

Do you think a long marriage and three children can reasonably be described as “hooked up”? Do you think a producer can get their wife a job on a show they have no involvement with and keep her in that job for many years even though she’s apparently “thick as fuck”?

You don’t have to like her. But that comment was shockingly vitriolic. I actually think you should be banned from Mumsnet for that level of nastiness, though I haven’t reported because I really wanted to detail what makes your post so disgusting on a predominantly women’s discussion forum.

dropthevipers · 29/05/2023 03:12

it all seems very disproportionate the ersatz outrage. I dont doubt that behind the scenes Schofield is a bit of a cunt, but some people are banging on as if it was revealed he was a secret member of Baader-Meinhof. (one for the teenagers there)

MeAndZee · 29/05/2023 03:16

I don’t watch the show they host, but I do care about the covering up of abuse and grooming of children.

Kinneddar · 29/05/2023 04:29

Mistressofpemberly · 28/05/2023 21:37

Yeah. I can’t understand the vitriol against him. He had an affair and lied about it [shrug]

An affair with a much younger member of staff. A member of staff he first met when the person was 10 years old - there are photos of them together at some organisation PS was involved with. He then acted as a mentor to the boy & helped get him a job. Something that the powers that be at ITV knew about & ignored

Thats slightly more than just having an affair.

That very much sounds like grooming.

Agreed. There is also no evidence that he is actually a sex offender and people should be careful what they say. He's evidently a liar and may well be unsavoury and unpleasant but there isn't a criminal investigation and he hasn't been charged with any offence, let alone convicted. Some of the comments here are potentially libellous.

I'm no fan of Holly Willoughby either but I agree with a previous poster about the disgusting comments about her.

NameforMN · 29/05/2023 05:05

I'm mildly intrigued that it's come out now..As well at all the denials by his colleagues that they knew. Even I knew about who he had the affair with as it was easily accessible information for years! It feels like a cover up for more to come..

HelpMeGetThrough · 29/05/2023 05:06

I certainly don't care about two talentless twats and what they may or may not have done.

dancinginthesky · 29/05/2023 05:33

Didn't he also follow the kid 2 months before they even met at the theatre company and was snapchatting him and other minors? I think the Snapchat's were just messages not sexual but it's still pretty "unwise" for a big tv presenter to carry on that way and not expect it to go bad

Gooligan · 29/05/2023 05:44

I have seen screenshots from other young lads on Twitter.

Ndd135632 · 29/05/2023 05:50

I just don’t understand why he has made this statement that he lied. There is more to this. It’s like he is trying to pre-empt something else coming out - I suspect one of the boys is about to speak out. I suspect he will say it wasn’t ‘legal’. Philip wanted to get in first.

SequinsandStilettos · 29/05/2023 05:58

I care about institutionalised protection of "talent" at the cost to a young person, whose own career ambitions have been curtailed.

I care about MN being constantly used for shilling/PR purposes.

I can care about different things at the same time and I can choose whether to open a thread or hide it.

Just people on this planet, like we all are.

I didn't care when people were seemingly distressed that they'd appeared to jump the queue to see the queen, and throughout all of the gossip about the various hosts falling out and whatnot. But now I'm starting to be interested in the whole saga because it seems as though there is an awful lot under the surface, including the potential that he might be a paedophile.

Not sure if I can say that here, but he's had an illicit relationship with a very young man who's decades younger than him, who he's known since he was an underage teenager, plus he's allegedly been having communications with boys under the pretense of staying in touch with the fans, so... I'm interested because his demise just seems unreal. Such a long career now unravelling very dramatically. I thought his "by the way, wife, I'm actually gay, soz" was a particularly low point in his career (even though it was spun to be quite a wholesome episode, what with the crying and the "authentic self" implications), but no.

I'm also captivated by the idea that this is yet another man one might not have suspected for this.

SconesJamthenCream · 29/05/2023 06:10

I don't watch This Morning- however I care that an underage boy was groomed and then developed a relationship with PS. I care that it's been widely known about and ITV did nothing.

This is the best summary I I've seen if people still aren't aware. www.facebook.com/reel/802605188237710?fs=e&s=2dNYbT

All sounding very familiar isn't it. Household name. Big TV personality. Again doing things in plain sight.

Wonder what else is still to come out
