Does anyone else not care about Philip and holly?

Honestly whats this obsession with them?
Couldn't give a toss. Why are people so invested in two people who host a breakfast programme?

Just people on this planet, like we all are.

I know but if it’s potential grooming and paedophilia that have been covered up by the media it’s pretty bad isn’t it.

This but I do feel this happens often eg Ellen bullying on the show etc - we only see one side

I also am fuming for those that were lied to and forced to pander to this person (PS) and his family - she was lied to for years

Yes there is! Several people were extremely worried about the 18 year old and his mental health. They don’t go into detail but people did raise concerns about how PS was behaving with him. The bosses at ITV are saying it was all rumours, yet they knew the 18 year old was using ITV chauffeur driven cars to go between the ITV studios and PS’s London flat!

It's like Madeleine McCann. Dozens or Hundreds of cute little 3 yr old kids went missing that week (in the world), but we all only talked about ONE. That's what baffled me then. The obsession with PS-HW is some kind of we-viewers-own-ITV feeling, I suppose.

Do you really not understand, because your post has a whiff of superiority. Surely you know that lots of people are interested in the lives of those who are well known. I don't watch the programme either but I can comprehend that people who do feel like they know them just like anyone else on a popular TV show

Never watched them. Don't care especially but as above, if it's a crime or safeguarding issue then it's important. However the constant media coverage is beyond dull

I care that 1 person could yield so much power ina the media. I care that someone in power used his position to groom a teenager into a sexual relationship whilst portraying himself a a smug, married man.

I care that these people are exposed.

But I cannot bear either of them. Holly is thick as fuck and got the job cos she hooked up with an ITV producer.

Hopefully now, they will widen their pool of resources and we will see different people from these two twats, ant and Dec and Stephen mulhern ffs.

I think it's rather dangerous to say he's an abuser without proof.

Whether he is or isn't I don't feel qualified to judge and I'm not particularly interested in his activities unless there is some kind of legal case.

My understanding is that he's been exposed as a liar and that's as far as my interest goes. I'm not interested in anything Holly Willoughby has to say.

OP you might be less confused by all this is you re-read the statements by both Holly and ITV. As they make clear, they DID know about the rumours of Phil having an inappropriate member of the This Morning staff. So they asked him if the stories were true. As did his lawyers and his agents. He strenuously denied them, as did the rumoured boyfriend. So ITV defended him, as did Holly. When he finally admitted he had lied, ITV had no option but to sack him and Holly too felt let down and hurt by him. His agents, too, who on the strength of Philip’s denials had been threatening to sue rumour mongers for the past three years, also pulled
it is all very well embittered former ITV daytime presenters like Eamonn Holmes and the absurd Dan Wootton piling in now and saying ITV knew about the rumours and should never have accepted Phil’s word, but in the absence of actual evidence they had no other option.
Had he been honest at the start of the relationship with the boy, his friends and employers could have warned him of the dangers of what was an inappropriate although not illegal relationship and it might have been handled very differently.

He lied, he deceived and mislead

Every one involved should be accountable, no ifs buts or maybes

I don't care about their relationship or fude or whatever. I very much do care that yet again a sexual predator has been able to do this and it's obviously been known about. I don't watch this morning or really itv at all. But I'm not going to be all smug and say oh I have a job or better taste in tv to try and diminish something serious.

I’ve never watched breakfast tv (listen to the radio or read the paper while I eat breakfast) but I am quite intrigued by how this is playing it. As a fellow kiwi I would be disappointed in PS (and feel upset for the victim(s)) if he had been grooming or otherwise taking advantage of this young man (men?) as a teenager.
