Lovely to have the sun finally but I already feel too warm after just a few days of sunshine! Anyone else the same?!

No, it’s 22 degrees here which is pleasantly warm.

BeanCounterBabe · 27/05/2023 16:48

I’m in the coast in Devon where it’s 21 degrees with a refreshing breeze. Perfect. One of the reasons I moved here is that it rarely gets very hot. And if it is hot I jump in the sea or lido.

People moan all winter and spring about have to have the heating on and drying washing, then when the heating can go off and all the washing gets dry, people are moaning it's too hot

OddBoots · 27/05/2023 16:56

It's perfect for sitting around but warm when walking to and from work.

Vates · 27/05/2023 17:01

Yes! At least for me too! I get more worried by the day about a heat wave or roasting hot summer and just want to cry.

I have always had anxiety over Summer though and it has just got hotter every year. As a child and teen I just coped with it but didn't like it.

I get the reverse of what people find hard with winter. I'd rather be cold than hot. I feel sluggish, tired and (honestly) depressed. Obviously I wish that I didn't but trying to sleep in a heat wave is bloody uncomfortable unless you have air conditioning. Open windows and fans don't stop anybody from sweating and smelling and soaking the sheets.

I'm in the South West too. The breeze is lovely at the moment but doesn't stop me from sweating because of the sun & heat. I always feel like hibernating in a giant fridge about this time of the year or rather it is from June until end of August. Hate it with a passion.

I know other people feel different and that's fine but I still won't agree with you.

BumbleNova · 27/05/2023 17:01

#klaxon! The moaning Minnie's have arrived!

It was only a matter of time...

SpongeBob2022 · 27/05/2023 17:06

It's 21 where I am. Sunshine and warmth make such a difference to my mood. I'm loving it!

ApplesandOrangesandPears · 27/05/2023 17:14

Yes but I don't handle any heat well, holidays abroad on the beach are my idea of hell and I once spent 10 days stuck in a hotel room with the air con on full blast as it was the only place I could stand to be until the evening. It's a shame because it looks beautiful outside and I'd love to be able to enjoy the heat like most others, but I always end up just feeling uncomfortable, ill and burnt.

ChiaraRimini · 27/05/2023 17:57

25C in my kitchen right now. It's siesta weather. Up early, spent the morning working in the garden, then lunch with a cold beer, followed by a shower and a nap. You just have to adjust your schedule to the weather.

HowardKirksConscience · 27/05/2023 18:00

If you don’t like temperatures above 20C, are you carrying extra weight? Not having a dig, just wondering whether you feel it’s a factor. (It is for me)

lovemelongtime · 27/05/2023 13:34

Can't stand posts like this. We live in a cold country where most people save up all year to go and get two weeks of sun.
We get one day of warmth and people start moaning.
Sorry but get over it. Think of the electric costs you're saving if nothing else.

@lovemelongtime then use a little common sense & don't open these threads, it's not compulsory.

Qilin · 27/05/2023 18:05

No, definitely not feeling I've had enough of it!

It's warm but not hot here. Low 29s and lovely and sunny. Perfect!

My joints are finally beginning to enjoy the dry warmth after the painful months of cold, wet winter. Bliss.

Yes, I am. But my 80 year old mum who is very slim is just the same in the heat. We cannot function in it.

This!
FGS! The weather in the UK is crap for the majority of the time. A few days in a row and people are whinging. Ridiculous.

I don't consider the weather 'crap' the majority of the time. One person's 'crap' is another's 'good'. Just be intelligent and use your imagination and realise that everyone is an individual and feels differently.

FrenchBoule · 27/05/2023 18:09

12 degrees and cold wind today. Had some drizzle earlier on. Currently outside with my jacket on. I’m definitely not too hot.

DramaLlamadodah · 27/05/2023 18:09

I am in the garden in my crop top and shorts. Very warm in berks today!

Yes, you can certainly do that when you have to work an 8 hour shift in it. 🙄

BabbleBee · 27/05/2023 18:13

It’s a perfect temperature here for me in the SE. Warm enough not to have eleventy million layers on, cool enough to sit comfortably outside and listen to nothing but the breeze in the trees and the birds singing…. aaaaaaaand relax Wine

steff13 · 27/05/2023 18:17

Nah, it's only 80F here. It's another 15 degrees before it's too hot.

ThirstyThursday · 27/05/2023 18:17

@C1239 im sorry you're feel too hot already. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, if you're hot, you're hot 💁🏻‍♀️

For ME it's been lovely, I sat outside with a coffee about 2pm and it was Devine, I could have sat/snoozed there all afternoon, but I'd have looked like a lobster. My body hasn't seen much sun these past few years and I got burnt the other week when I sat out, not moving for a while and it was WAY hotter today.

my car temp (for outside) is accurate and at points this afternoon while driving around it was at 26°. I threw away all the old sunscreen so I need to go & buy some new so I can enjoy the sunny days a bit more. After a skin cancer scare my face is plastered in it!

Kyse23 · 27/05/2023 18:19

I'm warm but have a new cat so the windows are all closed! Keep opening some, closing doors and repeat to try and get some fresh air in

TrashyPanda · 27/05/2023 18:21

Yes. I can’t believe posters are complaining that the sun has, eventually, come out! We’ve endured about 6 months of cold and rain 😒

Some people are never happy 🙄

PinkRiceKrispies · 27/05/2023 18:35

Yes, felt unwell earlier. It's the house getting too hot.
Dreading the rest of summer.

Would insect screen on two help so you can get nice draught through?
