Lovely to have the sun finally but I already feel too warm after just a few days of sunshine! Anyone else the same?!

No it’s so nice

Warmer still would be great

Paperlate · 27/05/2023 13:52

It's not too hot. It's a beautiful day and I'm loving it.

TripleDaisySummer · 27/05/2023 13:52

Can't stand posts like this. We live in a cold country where most people save up all year to go and get two weeks of sun.
We get one day of warmth and people start moaning.

We're not 2 week in the sun people - we're not that unusual either.

We've also nearly had two weeks of sun here of mostly already so it's not one day.

So while I don't think it's too hot yet - we've had heat waves last few years here it does depend on what your doing and how you react to sun. 8 hours outside with no shade very different experience to inside with ac running.

I've just declined to walk 45 minutes into town to go shopping and then walk back on grounds this time of day I think I will get too hot.

shelbabab · 27/05/2023 14:31

No I'm still pretty much too cold. Yesterday was about high of 18 here in Glasgow and when sun was out it was lovely and warm. Today only high of 16 degrees. I would still wear a jacket outside today. I've also been putting the heating on for an hour most days still! We had one day a couple of weeks ago it was 20 degrees and sunny that was perfect temperature.

It wld have to be about 22-23 degrees plus before I was feeling it felt properly hot.

amylou8 · 27/05/2023 14:33

Yes, I'm at THAT age. I'm already sleeping with the fan on. I really hope it's not like last year again. I know people love a bit of sun and I'm an old misery guts, but I'd far rather it be cold please.

SamW98 · 27/05/2023 14:35

It’s pleasant but not even vaguely too hot. I’ve still got long sleeves on.

Give me high 20’s low 30’s as my perfect weather

DustyLee123 · 27/05/2023 14:36

Me and the dog are hiding in the shade !

Sorry but get over it. Think of the electric costs you're saving if nothing else.

I save on heating in the winter because I don't have the heating on, but summer is expensive for me because of needing the aircon.

I'll get my coat...

(I won't because it's 25° and we have been stuck in the car for four hours with another two to go)

halfsiesonapotnoodle · 27/05/2023 14:38

Yes, definitely. Cows and sheep huddling in the shade patches, dogs panting heavily. It's too hot for them and too hot for me. I don't need a thermometer or other people's opinions, I KNOW when I'm too hot.

StonwEd · 27/05/2023 14:39

nope. East London last night, went to a pub garden, minute the sun went in it was FREEZING

Haywirecity · 27/05/2023 14:41

Haha. I get you, op. I marking exam papers and I'm in the bedroom with the curtains closed and the fan on! I need to move to the Arctic Circle!

Floralnomad · 27/05/2023 14:41

I’m in the SE it’s 17 and breezy . Great for drying washing but I wore a jumper to walk the dog earlier as it’s pretty chilly in the breeze .

Shirty48 · 27/05/2023 14:41

We have just got the fans out. I’m just about ok - it’s 20 degrees here but happy for it not to get any hotter. Hate getting sweaty doing housework and having to go out plastered in sun cream.

People vary. It's fine to feel too hot in it, it's fine to love it. Personally, anything over 20 makes me feel ill. Happy for others who enjoy it to enjoy it. We're all different and that's fine.

continentallentil · 27/05/2023 14:43

I got home somewhat glowy yesterday, finally summer is here. Fingers crossed it lasts.

mondaytosunday · 27/05/2023 14:43

20 here but warmer in the sun - this is why I'm so glad to have a north facing garden! It's in full sunshine now but the sun doesn't reach in to the house, so I can sit just inside in the cool while admiring my garden? Or on the bit of patio just outside the doors. The grass and flower beds get full sun though 😁.
Downside is my bedroom is on south side so whoa does it get bright early (do not like to have blinds down at night).

Denise82 · 27/05/2023 14:44

I'm usually one of those who gets too hot, but it's a beautiful sunny day in North Wales and still a bit of breeze in the air, probably from the sea. Little patches of cloud but its so beautiful I can't complain 😃

ilovesooty · 27/05/2023 14:48

No.

AnnieP1 · 27/05/2023 14:49

Have to say its's been an absolute joy to open the curtains in the morning to cloudless blue skies for the last few days - long may it continue!!

the80sweregreat · 27/05/2023 14:49

I can just about bear this heat , but if it gets any hotter I'll be moaning. I know people love it though!

Rollonannualeave · 27/05/2023 14:51

I've been on the allotment, gardening at home and a big dog walk. I am a bit sweaty but plan to dunk in the sea later. I love this weather.

Paperlate · 27/05/2023 14:54

How nice is it to have windows and doors open and not be all cooped up under blankets. I feel much more alive in the summer. The cat is rolling around on the lawn and loving it.

ToddlerMama27 · 27/05/2023 14:54

It is definitely too hot here!! 😩 Just bought some shorts from a charity shop and my little boy has been in summer clothes for about a week now

coffeecupsandwaxmelts · 27/05/2023 14:56

No - it's absolutely gorgeous!

I'm house-sitting this weekend and outside since about 8am - feeding goats, having breakfast, walking dogs and then reading and lunch in the garden!

Currently inside for a bit as I have to go back out in half an hour to do a horse feed and another dog walk.

cafecreme · 27/05/2023 15:07

No, my hands are cold and the breeze is still cool for me (London). I love a Mediterranean heat though.
