I’m just wondering who on earth cares? Can’t understand why this is such big news.

The klaxon at Tory-bot HQ must be going crackers tonight, they'll be shelling some hellacious overtime out come payday.

Yes. This.

Poor SueEllen. If only she could just be left alone with Trying To Stop The Boats, and not having to deal with silly nonsense over repeatedly being accused of breaching the ministerial code.

It's actually quite easy to be a minister for years and NOT be in contravention of the ministerial code, but you'd never know it, looking at the God-awful Tory party.

Anyway, let's settle in and enjoy a bit more claptrap from HQ.

I care she's my MP. She was elected to locally improve the lives of people who live here and out in charge as Home Secretary.

She is a lawyer, she's the ex attorney general and she's currently Home Secretary. Yet she neither seems to know the law, understand policing around speeding or even care about breaking the law.

If we can't trust her over something so simple how can we trust her over the big responsibilities she has?

Oh and btw I've met her numerous times. If you think she comes across badly over SM and TV you should her in real life. She's a vile slimey specimen of a human being who doesn't give anyone who she doesn't consider worthy the time of day.

VonThorn · 22/05/2023 20:16

..and to answer you, OP. I care a lot about this stuff. Just like millions of other voters who are sick to the back teeth of Tories assuming rules are for the little people.

So why couldn't Boris just have his party outside?

I wouldn't describe the gathering in the cabinet office as 'a party' - 15/20 minutes with a sandwich and no cake - my niece's party lasted for two or three hours with games, decorations and a cake.

SweetSakura · 22/05/2023 20:18

jgw1 · 22/05/2023 19:59

@Janiie any chance you could explain why a 6 year old should have a sing song on zoom, but a 56 year old can have a birthday party?

Quite.

countrygirl99 · 22/05/2023 20:18

Well the police thought it was an illegal social gathering. Doesn't matter if it was calle a party or not, it broke the laws that Boris announced to the country and Boris was fined. Kier Starmer didn't break the law so, after a police investigation, he wasn't fined. The difference is quite simple.

so no chance of her ever doing an MP surgery if she can’t be around the public… bit of a shame for her constituents. I didn’t realise we’d got to the point where cabinet members literally could not interact with the public for their own safety.

The last one she did here in the local church had attendees who swapped places with a holocaust survivor who stood and asked a question.

So no she doesn't like the public - but mostly because they ask her questions which means she has to answer them and her true colours shine through.

How long does it need to be to be a party? If it were 30minutes would it be a party?

Anyway it is rather silly sematics. It was illegal, the Prime Minister at the time kept telling us that parties like that were illegal and yet Boris and Rishi didn't seem to know that.

My daughter was 6 during the pandemic and the "very same week bojo was having a party at ten downing Street my daughter drew faces of her friends on balloons so it would feel like they were at her party.*
She would have done anything to gather round a tray of sandwiches with a few friends

One of my young nieces celebrated her birthday that week as well - she held her birthday party (with five friends) in her back garden - which was allowed at the time. Parks and zoos were also open for those children without gardens.

I think we are referring to different parties . It's tricky when Boris had so many Grin.and.when the rules changed so often.

Suffice to say if a party of any sort had been allowed she would have had one. And that we did our best for her in the circumstances

But all of that is missing the point and you know it -Boris partied when children couldn't.

'And thirdly, rather than just admit she shouldn’t have done it, she maintains that she did no wrong. It’s disappointing she is so severely lacking in integrity.'

A speeding fine. It wasn't armed robbery y'know. Think most folk who have been caught by a speed camera still manage to have a bit of integrity. How desperate are labour to make this out to be such a drama.

Well if she'd just attended the course, sorted it out herself or paid the fine without asking tax paid civil servants to try and get around it - she'd still have her integrity.

But she didn't.

She chose to throw what little integrity she had left away.

Her.

Her choice.

Her doing.

Her consequences.

Do remember that Suella like Boris only broke the law in a specific and limited way and they are really very important and busy so we should cut them a bit of slack.

Don't forget that it was essential for Boris to have parties in order to be motivated to do any work.

Because she's a woman of colour trying to get a handle on immigration, which has made the lefties (labour) practically implode. So in desperation a tabloid drag up some year old story about a speeding ticket, for which she paid the fine and took the points when she was told she couldn't do a private course to save face. Kier Starmer has got wind of this, cum in his pants and called for her immediate resignation.

This is bollocks.

None of the woman (or men) of colour I work with can stand her.

They all think she's the racist shitbag she actually is.

Durham Police didn't fine Dominic Cummings, Keir Starmer or Labour MP Kevan Jones. Definitely a party going on here - Labour Mayor attended as well (May 2020);

So are you saying the police are corrupt important incompetent?

Sadly I've had to talk to her - professionally at least. (She ignores personal emails).

Actually if I'm honest when she visits my place of work I go out of my way to avoid her so I remain professional 🤣🤣

Bit unfair on shitbags.

Rhondaa · 22/05/2023 20:31

'So are you saying the police are corrupt important incompetent?'

?

Not aimed at me but I would suggest there is a lack of consistency between forces and I would politely suggest the fpns were silly and done to appease the hysterical media who were whipping up some folk who may have been easily fooled.

itsgettingweird · 22/05/2023 20:32

She asked if she could do the course 1 to 1! She wasn't suggesting she bung the cops 50 quid to make it disappear. Jeez.

She asked her civil servants to find out. They aren't employed by her.

And there's a lot more to it that may come out in the investigation.

She's treated her staff so badly they really don't feel any need to be loyal to her anymore.

What's it they say about treating those you climb over on the way to the top?

TheHandmaiden · 22/05/2023 20:33

Apparently took her 50 goes to try get to be adopted as a candidate an MP. She's not even popular with her colleagues, but a useful idiot.

She can't even go back to the profession since her opinion on "limited and specified way". And the Bar Standards Board are looking at her comments because of the "alleged" racism, I think.

Rhondaa · 22/05/2023 20:33

'They all think she's the racist shitbag she actually is'

Lovely. Again I get told off for sniggering at Angie's ringlets. Must remember shitbag is ok.
