So I don't watch this morning, and honestly have no idea whats happening. I continue to see feeds popping up and comments for days, and im just wondering what exactly has happened? I can't seem to find exactly what was said or what caused this scandal

OP posts:
Samcro · 22/05/2023 16:17

It’s all over twitter and Facebook and the media.
Its not difficult to find.

neverknowinglyunreasonable · 22/05/2023 16:18

When you find out about Google you're going to learn so much stuff.

vodkaredbullgirl · 22/05/2023 16:19

Just look at the hundreds of posts, you will find your answer. 🙄

UndercoverCop · 22/05/2023 16:19

There are 500 threads on this. They jumped the queue, generally quite smug, not as nice off camera as on.
Then the Biggie, rumours about Philip and a very young runner on the show who he'd known since he was a child, went south Phil gets him fired and gets a superinjunction.
Philip's brother had just been sentenced for some horrific sexual offences against an under age boy, Philip knew, told him to stop it, but did nothing, didn't report him etc even when he knew it was continuing. He then starts he no longer has a brother once it all gets to court, even though he'd known about it for years. (seen as arse covering)
Holly then drops Phil even though she's known about the runner and his generally awful behaviour for years, at he's no longer useful to get and she doesn't want to be associated with someone with his current reputation.
That's it in a nutshell

Want2beme · 22/05/2023 16:20

I don't watch it either, but I'm gathering it started with queuegate. They both jumped the queue for the late Queen's lying in state.

He knew that his brother is a paedophile and kept quiet about it. She is guilty by association.

Something like that.

JaneJeffer · 22/05/2023 16:21

They laughed hysterically at things that weren't funny

CoolSchool · 22/05/2023 16:23

Not much.

Seems like they used to be close friends then became less so and then Philips brother was being investigated for sex offences and Philip possibly didn't tell Holly about it till it was in the news.

And she was pissed off so they're not friends anymore and didn't want to work with him on This Morning.

And it's been blown up into some nonsense scandal.

Fruttidelbosco · 22/05/2023 16:26

They used to do a lot of forced laughter on the television. And before that, he used to do a lot of forced laughter with the lady from Ready, Steady, Cook. And he used to pretend to have a friend called Gordon (the gopher), but it was a puppet. And he was in Jason’s Technicolour Dreamcoat. And he let his hair go grey and didn’t dye it, even as a young man.

i don’t know so much about Holly Willoughby except that one of the contestants was hurt on that Wim Hoff programme that her husband produced and she cried and everyone went to comfort her while ignoring the injured contestant. So she doesn’t just pretend to laugh, she pretends to cry, too.

The tragedy is that they both have talent. And they both seem very genuine (when pretending to laugh and/or cry).

HowlingAtTheM00n · 22/05/2023 16:27

I did google it but there's no exact information coming up other than a falling out between Holly and Phil and a scandal involving his brother , which is why I asked exactly what has happened between them as it seems more has went on than what I'm reading. No need to be rude

OP posts:
greencardigangirl · 22/05/2023 16:28

Surely just as quick for you to type your question into a search engine (Google for example) and see what pops up.

This is a beginner's guide to the publicly acknowledged facts.
https://www.theguardian.com/media/2023/may/21/phillip-schofield-children-tv-star-ousted-this-morning-presenter

In addition rumour has it that
a) Holly was very shocked by the stuff that came out in PS's brother's trial and it led to a breakdown in their working relationship and ITV having to decide between the two of them.
b) PS behaved in a dubious manner in one of his work/personal relationships and an injunction on the subject is about to cease.

Either or both of those rumours may or may not be true.

@neverknowinglyunreasonable very childish comment.

@CoolSchool
@UndercoverCop
Thankyou. In none of the articles that I read did I see anything regarding him grooming a young runner, nor did I know anything about a queue skipping scandal ( I dont like in uk) so I had no idea what actually happened here as nothing was going into great detail

LadyWithLapdog · 22/05/2023 16:42

Thanks for the explanation. I’m another one who doesn’t watch Thus Morning and I’m getting bored of the coverage they get when there’s other things going on - like Braverman and her speeding fine

I think there's an injunction in place to prevent the story of the young runner getting out, so that likely why mainstream media are not writing about it.

A quick google and you'll get the main points of the runner story. It's rather disturbing given how young the lad was when they first met, and how he has allegedly been treated.

ModestMoon · 22/05/2023 16:59

The sheer irony of everyone piling on to say "just Google it" in increasingly elaborate ways, when they could have in the same amount of time simply answered the question....

Those threads are no good because they assume you already know what's going on, they don't actually explain. I don't have social media like Facebook or Twitter. Like the OP, I would be interested if someone wanted to just tell me what happened, but not interested enough to wade through hundreds of opinion pieces.

That's a pretty snobby attitude.

HowlingAtTheM00n · 22/05/2023 17:13

@midsomermurderess pipe down. what a pathetic comment thats also a very poor look

Asking what has happened with regards to clearly a very public scandal is hardly sticking my nose in.

OP posts:
MonumentalLentil · 22/05/2023 17:35

I have hidden about a million threads about the knobhead and the saddo, there should be a topic specially for the topic.

I am not interested in them at all, however I did give in and ask someone at the weekend what all the drivel was about having read the recent update on the creepy brother of the creepy presenter.

You are not out of order for asking but I am so sick of seeing all the threads and wondering if they are all necessary, I will never know because I won't look at them.

KezzaMucklowe · 22/05/2023 17:42

I think most of the hate is based on rumours and speculation. There's nothing concrete out there as far as I know.
Just goes to show how much some people love to hate.
