Whats going on??

I'm in need of a rational answer because I'm quietly freaking out!

Last night I couldn't find my tv remote, looked everywhere, under cushions, looked under furniture, even lifted the furniture, looked in the fridge...literally looked everywhere at least 3 times, then found it under the sofa that was looked under and lifted previously.

Came home earlier today to find my tv box was dangling off the edge of the tv unit, it hadn't been on the edge and it hadn't been moved before I went out.

Now tonight, I was drying my hair when I knocked my hair serum off my dressing table, thought id get it after i'd dried my hair...no where to be found!

I've looked in every nook and cranny, in drawers, under bed covers, in shoes, under bed...every where you can think off, DBF has had a good look too

Whats going on? Rational explanation please???

The TV box - is it situated somewhere that's affected by vibration from a neighbour's washing machine?

Remotes disappear, they have their own wormholes they hide in until they are ready to be found.

The hair serum - did you see which way it rolled? Cos it might have gone the other way from where you'd expect.

Ghosts.
Or do you have a cat who likes to move things?

Sprinkles211 · 21/05/2023 21:20

Bloke living in your loft 🤣

Might be

SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 21/05/2023 21:21

Ah I have a wormhole under my makeup table. Everything I ever drop vanishes for about 3 weeks.

I blame the borrower's as well

Freakingfreaky · 21/05/2023 21:22

No, I'm an end house and the tv unit is on the outer wall.

Maybe the remote "fell off" the sofa when moving it?

My bedroom is tiny, I looked all over the room, in all directions, every inch of that room has been searched.

Mice or a poltergeist!

Toottooot · 21/05/2023 21:22

Ghosties min.

Freakingfreaky · 21/05/2023 21:23

I dunno what's worse....a ghost or a bloke living in my loft 😂

Ask St Anthony to find it for you

NillyNoMates · 21/05/2023 21:25

I’d rather have a ghost than a bloke in the loft

Menopause. Or is that just me?

Menopause? Would that make things disappear? 🤷

Is DBF your boyfriend? Could he be moving things to make you feel strange? In other words is he weird or reliable?

WoofWoofBeachLife · 21/05/2023 22:00

Same here, I have looked everywhere for 2 weeks in vain for one of our first aid boxes. It's not small, green and was nowhere in this house. Yesterday it appeared on top of the fridge! Wtaf! It wasn't there before I'm so positive 🤣

No, I don't think so. Id been looking for my hair stuff for about 5 minutes before he looked, and I was in the room at the same time

Was there anyway you could've missed it? Drives you crazy doesn't it!

It’s there. Just in an unexpected place you haven’t looked yet. Think open drawer, nestled in some clothes, fallen in a bag or amongst something else. It’s happened to me multiple times with various things. Completely vanished. Those that have turned up eventually have been hiding in an unlikely place, but I have always gone ahhhhh that’s where it went!
Other times, I have moved things but had no memory of carrying them. I.e gone to the bathroom and taken something out of a cupboard whilst not realising I’m holding my hairbrush for example. Put hairbrush in cupboard and not realised I even had it in my hand. Then completely forgotton i even went to the cupboard. That sort of thing. On auto mode as I’m so busy thinking about something else.

I'm hoping this is the case, but I have looked everywhere.

Drawers, under pillows/ bedclothes, inside my shoes, behind radiator, in the laundry basket.

There's no gaps between furniture that it could've rolled through.

The only place it could've rolled is under my bed.

A dog, a cat, a poltergeist, or a scary man under the bed.

Well, just the other day my keys disappeared and finally reappeared in the fridge. We live in a new build so I can confidently eliminate 'ghost'.

snoozingbaby1476 · 21/05/2023 22:14

This happens to me all the time. I don't even get annoyed about it anymore I just accept that things will turn up at some point & generally they do. Recently lost my necklace....found it on my bra couple of days later, tv remote is always awol, keys disappear all the time. It's become my normal. I've not lost one of my kids yet so I take that as a win.

Freakingfreaky · 21/05/2023 22:15

And I've checked the bathroom, just in case I took it in there, but I remember seeing it fall. I finished drying my hair and straight away, bent down to pick it up. Nothing in between.

Do things turn up in places you know you've looked?
