To think that Phillip Schofield is a fantastic example of a complete and utter narcissist?

His behaviour over the last week has given me no doubt. To be honest I’ve never really liked him and found him incrediably rude, smug and generally obnoxious but the brass neck he has displayed since the story about him and Holly’s falling out has shocked even me. The statement he released was a not so thinly veiled thread towards Holly and ITV. His refusal to stand aside or even take a break and lie low for a bit shows he completley lacks any sense of shame. Now he’s starting to play the mental health card when there’s fuck all wrong with him other than an out of control ego and an unhealthy interest in barely legal young men..

Also his eyes. They are completley cold and dead.

To the poster above that said, people are just coming out now to say they hate him, as if we are a fickle bunch...I have been on many threads for years. You know the ones about him personally or, the ones asking for your most hated celebrity? Funnily enough he kept cropping up long before any of this came to light, even way before he announced he pitifully announced he was gay and that his wife was happy for him 🙄 He has been unpopular for a LONG time. The difference is now, those in higher places have something big enough on him to push him out kicking and screaming. I wouldn't be at all surprised if there's more to come.

And I’ll never forgive him for the way he treated Fern Britain, he’s not fit to shine her shoes yet he got rid of her because he wanted someone young who he could manipulate.

I agree with this. I didn't watch the show again after the way it treated Fern. Paying him more was unbelievable!

I don't really think there's a place for a show like this anymore anyway. Even my nearly 90 year old nanna prefers ch 5! It's irrelevant. And I hope for the nation's sake they don't go for the older man, giggling younger woman again. It's utterly pathetic of them.

Just to finish this little raging post, I absolutely think that Holly needs to shift her arse too. It's doubtful though as her husband runs many shows I think (which is why she got the I'm a celeb role imo, which couldn't have gone any worse).

Anyway, to me he has always been hiding in plain sight. I always thought that I'd enjoy his fall but actually I was concerned about how this could impact someone. Then I heard that he's moving on to bigger things and I thought, course he is! Probably GB NEWS with the other morons. People like that always land on their feet!

twilightermummy · 21/05/2023 23:45

Wow that's embarrassingly long! Usually I'm a positive vibes sort of person but I've always said that he's my most hated celebrity 😂

Tigertigertigertiger · 21/05/2023 23:53

Unless you know him personally I think you’re out of order

Daz57 · 21/05/2023 23:56

I met him a few times some years ago and he was very nice, friendly and was lovely to his dad, who he was with both times.

SilentParrot · 21/05/2023 23:58

I've never thought him a nasty piece of work, certainly not back in the ancient days of the Broom Cupboard, just found him irritating in his cheery blandness in the way that light entertainment TV presenters tend to be. And the fact he seemed to present so many shows as well as appearing on ads. Overkill.

Iwasafool · 21/05/2023 21:22

No just someone who would go to the police if I knew a child was being abused. I'm amazed at so many people who know all about this and not doing anything about it.

Well that's the BBC and ITV for you

MooncupShadow · 22/05/2023 00:18

I worked with two politicians who were/are very probably nonces. We did take it very seriously, and we did go to the police (after our political party did bugger all). The police took it very seriously but they simply could not get statements from the young people involved.

One day those young people, who are now well into adulthood, might speak out. But until then, a lot of cases will remain in limbo.

I do notice a pattern though - pay offs, offers of internships, paid jobs, convenient relocations ... silence is bought, and victims don't see themselves as victims till many years later, by which time they think it's too late to do anything about it.

Anyway I left my job over it and the party involved simply didn't support me. So many people just will not rock the boat.

VanGoghsDog · 22/05/2023 00:23

Now he’s starting to play the mental health card

Narcissism is a mental health condition, so ....make your mind up!

Groutyonehereagain · 22/05/2023 00:40

There’s obviously something gone on, otherwise he would still be presenting. I think ITV would be wise to completely distance themselves from him. There’s something not right.

guineacup · 22/05/2023 06:40

Dibbydoos · 21/05/2023 20:34

I haven't kept up with this, but I kniw his brother raped children and is in prison. I heard he was linked to at least 1 under age relationship with a boy. Who knows the real truth, but I was told by people who worked with him when I wasa teenager that he was weird - whatever that meant.

I don't watch daytime TV btw, so like other posters - unless what he's done is criminal or has damaged someone, I don't give a fiddle.

Famous people are just like all other people, the breath, eat, piss and shit just the same.

How is his brother relevant to this, however heinous his brother's crimes are?

guineacup · 22/05/2023 06:44

Anyone who watches their show enough to have become so invested in this drama as to care so passionately really needs to get a life that takes them away from the TV at 10am (or whenever it's on).

daretodenim · 22/05/2023 07:01

He's going to be "rehabilitated". There will be a period of difficulty and then a documentary about how hard his childhood was, or some aspect of it.

He'll talk about how he's been struggling with mental health conditions all his adult life because he was having to live in the closet.

And then there will be something about how tough it's been to work on TV because it was a homophobic atmosphere.

Then something about how important family is to him - and how loyal he is.

And then something about how all these struggles made it so hard for him to make the right decisions.

People will feel sorry for him.

And out of a cloud of glittery smoke, comes the new and improved Philip Schofield.

Enfys1982 · 22/05/2023 07:28

@VanGoghsDog its a personality disorder. Not a mental health condition.

I wonder about psychiatrists needing years of training when people on here can diagnose all sorts, narcissism, autism, ADHD to name but a few.

Indeed these terms ar e thrown around easily on here usually by people who have no clue what they really mean .

I used to like it when it was Richard and Judy and Fred the weather man ( and look how that turned out....)
but I rarely watch it now, and can't believe of many mumsnetters, must do going by the amount of threads on here about it.

Ladykryptonite · 22/05/2023 07:57

Guineacup - I never watch it, I'll be at work, but still think it's interesting, you could go and sneer on another thread

User135644 · 22/05/2023 08:04

He's just a wrong 'un. Never had any desire to watch This Morning. I felt sorry for his wife and the boy he groomed.

itwasntmetho · 22/05/2023 10:38

You don't need to watch TM to know who he is, he's on everything.
I was interested in the Savile revelations and I wasn't a small minded person obsessed with a TV program.

We should be interested when predators are outed, we should learn from it, these people groom all of us with the faux nice guy personas.
I agree old man/ young giggly woman duos are shit.

Wtf does that mean?!

HRTQueen · 22/05/2023 21:54

No not necessarily

strong narcissistic traits (we all have narcissistic traits) and he has also been very indulged because he was worth it to ITV that’s more the issue

HaretonEarnshaw · 26/05/2023 23:52

Sorry to hear that Mooncup - you did the right thing.

ClareBlue · 27/05/2023 00:29

Well the statement he just issued was full of self pity. He's dropped all his future work and his agency gave dropped him. He's admitted not telling the truth. Hopefully, that's the last we see of him. Any sympathy has to be with his wife and daughters who are living through this.

Why does everyone assume that this 'super-injection' rumour is fact? It's just gossip started on twitter!

Dan Wooton has tweeted tonight that there is no superinjunction.

So I guess that means the media just absolutely protected him. He was untouchable

So what has changed? 🤔

I just googled Fred the weatherman. Bloody hell ITV know how to recruit 😭
