To think that Phillip Schofield is a fantastic example of a complete and utter narcissist?

His behaviour over the last week has given me no doubt. To be honest I’ve never really liked him and found him incrediably rude, smug and generally obnoxious but the brass neck he has displayed since the story about him and Holly’s falling out has shocked even me. The statement he released was a not so thinly veiled thread towards Holly and ITV. His refusal to stand aside or even take a break and lie low for a bit shows he completley lacks any sense of shame. Now he’s starting to play the mental health card when there’s fuck all wrong with him other than an out of control ego and an unhealthy interest in barely legal young men..

Also his eyes. They are completley cold and dead.

I wonder about psychiatrists needing years of training when people on here can diagnose all sorts, narcissism, autism, ADHD to name but a few.

Me too, I have friends who seem to have this ability too, they can diagnose mental and physical health issues just by reading about someone. I worked in mental health as a support worker for years and would never ever have considered myself to be competent to diagnose anyone and was always really clear that this was outside of my training and remit.

We are going to have weeks of Phil and Holly threads Sad

Obviously if he has harmed someone that is wrong and should be dealt with appropriately (either legal or disciplinary depending on circs) but other than that, do we have to discuss this at all?

Did the name of the thread not give you a clue what it would be about before you clicked on it😂

SantoPalo · 21/05/2023 22:22

I read that he groomed a show runner and that it is due to come out soon.
Maybe that's why he left and others don't want to work with him.
Who knows.

EbonyRaven · 21/05/2023 22:29

Well there is a reason why Phil & Holly are called Smug and Squeak. 😬

Not a fan either. BEFORE all this I had gone off him a bit, and I can't articulate why - as I used to like him. I had gotten bored with him and Squeak Holly for about 2 or 3 years, and the queue-gate thing made me dislike them too (and not just be bored of them.)

I got fed up of their giggling sessions, and rolling around laughing at their private jokes, and other things they found funny, that most other people didn't, Holly's constant squeaking when she speaks grates on me too!

Apparently PHIL is still going to feature largely on TV - just not This Morning, as 'insiders' say he is still hugely popular. Errrr, no he is NOT hugely popular and has not been for several years. Indeed he has been hugely UNpopular since queue-gate. If he is soooo loved and popular then why has he gone from This Morning?

IMO, he is finished in TV now. It's not like Jeremy Clarkson and Jonathan Ross (and the like,) who fucked up somehow and got a rollicking. They moved on because they didn't do anything really bad, and were still liked. (Whatever you think of Clarkson he is still hugely popular!) Schofield is different. No way will he come back from this creepy seedy shite. It's too serious, and he has already lost popularity massively.

I have always liked Ant and Dec, but Phil and Holly, and Ant and Dec have dominated ITV when it comes to presenting, with very few others being given the chance. Time for fresh meat, and new blood. Ant and Dec can stay on I'm a Celebrity and Britains Got Talent, but do away with their dreadful Saturday Night Takeaway shite. They don't need to be on any more than those 2 shows. Phil can retire now, I don't wanna see him again, and they can finish Holly too. Had her 13 years on This Morning. Give someone else a chance. Alison Hammond. Not sure who can replace Phil. I like Rylan, and I don't mind Dermot.

FancyFanny · 21/05/2023 22:33

OFGS! The man has been one of the most popular presenters in the history of television and all of a sudden everyone is claiming to have always hated him, always thought he was nasty/dodgy/narcissistic/ruthless/ etc. etc. None of you know what he's like in real life. All you have to go on is hearsay and gossip and a bunch of stories in the press which are blown out of proportion and all based on nothing much at all. He used his celebrity status to jump a queue and he kept quiet when his brother confessed to grooming a minor. Other than that there's little evidence for anything else.

Previous to this though, he could do no wrong!

There’s no smoke without fire. I think there’s quite a lot to come out over the next few months about him, unless he can get a few more injunctions out pretty quick.
As for HW she’s been quite happy to say nothing while it was all hush hush, but she and her PR team are scrambling to distance her as quickly as they can now.

I liked him with Gordon the Gopher

Misses point spectacularly

I have this theory that fame at an early age, like trauma , freezes a person's emotional development and makes it hard to grow and change into a rounded and mature individual . Just my personal theory based on what I have seen as I have gone through life. I had a relative through marriage who achieved a considerable degree of fame and wealth in their late teens and early twenties and seemed to be trapped at this stage of their development

Just a heads up … but I don’t think you’re the originator of this “theory”. It’s been trotted out since time immemorial by cod psychologists.

Seriously?!??! No way?

Not heard that for the last three years. At all 😂

Yep. I don't know how much Holly knew, but she will be massively distancing herself from him now. So will most others. I have known people work somewhere for 15 or 20 years or more, and they do something that is very distasteful/wrong/against the law. The people who they have been close to/best friends with, and shared their lives with for 20 years, suddenly act like they barely knew them, and they were never that close. This is happening to Phil already. He won't come back from this, and we will see less and less of him on TV over the coming year or so, til he is completely erased.

AzureBlue99 · 21/05/2023 22:58

All the stuff going on in the UK, and this pissy little story is the one that dominates.

Guavafish1 · 21/05/2023 22:59

Holly needs to go now

Treesandsheepeverywhere · 21/05/2023 23:03

How do you know OP.
Holly said she wouldn't present Celebrity juice without Fern Cotton but changed her mind when Fern left and stayed.

Dropped Peter Jones at the last minute and has now done the same to Phil.

Back stabbing never looks good on anyone.

Florenz · 21/05/2023 23:10

I always thought he was a nasty piece of work, even when he used to present Children's BBC with Gordon the Gopher.

OK, so I have gone off him over the past 2 or 3 years, but I have to ask why did you think he was a nasty piece of work back then?

Butchyrestingface · 21/05/2023 21:36

Back in 1987, wee me predicted he'd come to a bad end when he defected from the CBBC broom cupboard for Going Live!

He didn't bloody listen but I bet now he wishes he had. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I read this as 'defecated' Grin

Unsure33 · 21/05/2023 23:20

I just don’t get how he got a super injunction. And I think if the rumours are true the boy should go to the police.

DarkDarkNight · 21/05/2023 23:29

He’s got away with too much for too long because he was protected by ITV and his talent agents. His behaviour and the statement he put out shows he thought he could just ride it out. It sounds like narcissistic traits, sheer arrogance in trying to call the shots with ITV. Any normal person would be retreating to lick their wounds, don’t know how true it is but the things I’ve read saying he was demanding he keep the soap awards and get a solo gig are very brazen considering what he’s been up to.

letthemalldoone · 21/05/2023 23:31

Nobody actually knows anything. It's all rumour and speculation.

Why does everyone have to jump on the bloody bandwagon? If there's anything to come out, it will do in time.

I think HW is a ruthless piece of work. After all the years they were such close friends, I don't get why she turned on him so viciously? OK so they have fallen out but she has gone for the jugular. I can't stand her silly simpering anyway. She needs to go too. She's damaged goods as well.

FancyFanny · 21/05/2023 23:32

Why does everyone assume that this 'super-injection' rumour is fact? It's just gossip started on twitter!

TinyRebel · 21/05/2023 23:43

neverbeenskiing · 21/05/2023 20:04

I must have missed something, I heard he's stepped down and it wasn't entirely his choice but what is he actually supposed to have done?

Was he pushed, or did he do a runner (ahem)?
