Female sex robot?

SweetiePi3 · 19/05/2023 13:04

I just saw online that for £3,500 a variety of 5'1 tall female robots using AI can be bought for sex. AIBU for seeing this as a threat to us?. Men always seem to want strings free relationships and a girl that is compliant and never complains seems to be every man's dream girl. I absolutely hate the idea!

A threat to who? Who's 'us'?

JamSandle · 19/05/2023 13:07

I wouldn't be bothered. Much better than real women being used as such.

takealettermsjones · 19/05/2023 13:07

I'm all for it. I would never want a man who would want this, and I would hate for my daughter to end up with one either, so if they're going to self-eradicate from the dating pool then fabulous.

DIMooney · 19/05/2023 13:07

I don’t think so. Where’s the game? No chase. Just the same as a sex toy, abeit a realistic one.

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 19/05/2023 13:08

You've got a very low opinion of men if you think that is every man's dream.

StopStartStop · 19/05/2023 13:10

Hmm.
Possibly, but not in the obvious way.
If a man would rather fuck a robot than fuck me, good luck to him. My confidence is not one whit abated by the availability of dolls that are better looking than I am.
If having robots available encourages men to practice the abuse of women seen in porn, which they later transfer to their experiences with actual women, then it's a bad thing and an indirect threat.

JuneShitfield · 19/05/2023 13:11

This strikes me as a self-solving problem. The type of man who would genuinely want a sex robot isn't likely to be bothering most women's 'most eligible bachelors' list any time soon.

Grumpsy · 19/05/2023 13:11

I’m all for these sex robots removing the idiots from the dating pool for younger generations 🤷🏻‍♀️ if they want a relationship with a plastic covered robot then this is one less woman to suffer their misogyny

Nordicrain · 19/05/2023 13:13

😂yes, YABU to feel threatened by a sex robot.

I wouldn't go near a man who fancies shagging a robot for no strings attached sex, they are all yours Roberta the robot!

Comedycook · 19/05/2023 13:13

The plus side is they won't be able to get a robot pregnant so their genes won't be passed on.

UndermyShoeJoe · 19/05/2023 13:13

Sounds like a win win. The losers get their sex robots and the decent men are saved for real women hooray.

ClemFandango1 · 19/05/2023 13:13

Frankly any man who would rather literally fuck a doll is better off safely out of the way. Ew.

ToBeOrNotToBee · 19/05/2023 13:14

Let them crack on.

I'd rather not waste my energy on any man who would consider one a sex robot.

Seas164 · 19/05/2023 13:14

I'd be perfectly happy for any man who felt a sex robot was a dream, to shag it into oblivion.

About as much "threat" to human relationships as a dildo. We are wired for connection, not plastic.

Chickenkeev · 19/05/2023 13:15

It's just 'fancy wanking' innit. But ewwww.

MaybeSmaller · 19/05/2023 13:24

I think you're reading way too much into this. It's a posh and very expensive sex toy.

Why is it a threat? Any man who actually prefers to spend time with this than with a woman (and I sincerely hope they are in the extreme minority) isn't going to be someone you want to be with anyway.

Tinfoilhatwearer · 19/05/2023 13:26

The men who would be inclined to use one of these aren't the type of men who would typically be in the dating pool and have any chance of procreating. There is no need for alarm.

Spot on. I'm happy that it will make it easier to spot the type of man who would want this. On the other hand, I worry about a generation in which using women as objects becomes even more normalised. I'd worry that they would "train" their sexual preferences on this robot, much like many men do now with violent pornography, and then look to get this type of sex from real women.

I do not think that we benefit from having the association between women and sex robots reinforced. And surely actual sex robots that look like women do reinforce this association.

Newbutoldfather · 19/05/2023 13:28

There was an article in the Week times about how many women were getting AI ‘boyfriends’ and some even dumping their RL boyfriends for the AI.

When I see all the threads on here about partners not meeting all of someone’s ‘needs’, I can see how silicon might be the next logical step.

Suprima · 19/05/2023 13:28

What a fucking weird take. A threat to us?

let these degenerates jizz in their sex robots. They need to be yeeted out of the gene pool

Ponoka7 · 19/05/2023 13:32

I also think that it's a win win. It stops these men from inflicting themselves on real women. I hope it catches on so things like the Thailand sex trade dies down a bit. We need to push out everyday sexism, keep making our services accountable for sexism and let those men who have run out of victims, shag robots.

Pinkbonbon · 19/05/2023 13:32

The sort of men who buy these ARE THE threat to us. So good that they're attention is diverted.

Though Im appalled that all the dolls are all 5ft 1.
That in my opinion encourages these creeps to go after us shorties in real life and associate our height with their sick perversion.

At least make all the dolls different heights.

bostonchamps · 19/05/2023 13:33

Huge generalisation to assume every man wants a woman who never complains and is compliant. DH quite regularly says one of the things he loves most about me is that I'm not compliant and don't take any bullshit

I think you mean some men.

I do wish there was some way of tracking what the men that do use these robots do to them, as it could actually act as a warning sign.

SisterWivesrus · 19/05/2023 13:37

What utter nonsense you're spouting OP.

I was going to say that. I know there were studies done when child sex dolls came out. People were saying they were a good thing because they’d rather a doll be ‘abused’ than a child. The studies showed that men using these dolls actually had an increase in desire to abuse a real child. These dolls normalised their behaviour and fed into their fantasies. If men have a desire to hurt then giving them a doll isnt going to help. Do people think giving serial killers dolls to stab or strangle will stop them actually killing people?
