Female sex robot?

SweetiePi3 · 19/05/2023 13:04

I just saw online that for £3,500 a variety of 5'1 tall female robots using AI can be bought for sex. AIBU for seeing this as a threat to us?. Men always seem to want strings free relationships and a girl that is compliant and never complains seems to be every man's dream girl. I absolutely hate the idea!

I've never used sex toys, so I can't comment on them as a whole.

You've never used a female sex robot either but here you are commenting on them.

You don't have to have used a sex toy to have an opinion of them. Do you think men worry whether vibrators will replace them? Or the myriad other sex toys. Are you threatened by them?

I didn't click your link BTW. I know the technology is not there for the type of doll you describe. And when it finally is you'll need to add a zero on to the price. Do you honestly believe you'd get all that tech for the price of a second hand car. Come on...

KittyAlfred · 19/05/2023 16:37

Actually I think this would be great!
The kind of losers who would use these robots wouldn’t be men I’d want to get involved with anyway. The dating pool would lose all the selfish, inconsiderate, abusive tossers, leaving just the decent men. The ones who just wanted a piece of flesh to have sex with would be out of our lives, and not reproducing, which would help the housing crisis. Win win!

ohsuzannah · 19/05/2023 16:42

The Stepford wives.
As long as he doesn't kill his real wife I'd be ok with that!

I'll be the first to buy my husband one of these......one less job to worry about 😉
Maybe they can create one that cooks and cleans too.....

This is basically the premise for the TV series Humans. Regardless of OP's paranoia this technology is decades away.

Plipplopdrop · 19/05/2023 16:44

Any bloke that would be into this is someone I wouldn't want to have any involvement with, so it'd save us some trouble at a guess

SirenSays · 19/05/2023 17:04

I actually think they're really disturbing. There was a video of a toy convention and it looked like a horror prop department. Lots of headless, limbless torsos being groped by men. Then right at the end of the video on a shelf there were children and dog bots too.

So many gross men. I can't imagine any women behaving like this. It's disturbing.

TidyHomeTidyMind · 19/05/2023 17:10

@Eckyftang how does the show end....I'm assuming not well for humans!

It was a good few years back so I don't really remember. Sorry. I think it was actually worse for the very human looking robots. The basic point was should these androids, who look and behave pretty much exactly how humans do, have the same rights as humans. Very interesting philosophical topic atm as this technology is now emerging in it's infancy.

Interesting and terrifying 🤣

This is very sound logic tbh 👏

thatsn0tmyname · 19/05/2023 17:33

I see this as a positive. Losers will no longer procreate, their alleles will die with them and the human race will evolve and produce offspring from decent quality males.

thatsn0tmyname · 19/05/2023 17:34

Kitty, you pipped me to the post.

cannaecookrisotto · 19/05/2023 17:39

I might buy one for DP so that I can read my book in peace 😂.

I think you must be new here. If you read Mumsnet you'd realise that lots of women choose to have children with drunk/abusive/inconsiderate/selfish etc men.

Looks like both sexes use them (admittedly these don’t have a physical form….yet).

Not my type now build me a Brenner lookalike I’d be very happy. No moaning no spending on weed smoking. No grumpy Christmas win win for me.
seriously though will real w0men get hurt, as many have said keeps the useless danger men out of the dating pool.

LaDamaDeElche · 19/05/2023 18:39

Can we get male ones too? 😂 Sounds perfect!

SweetiePi3 · 20/05/2023 04:45

SisterWivesrus · 19/05/2023 15:59

No they can't see, hear or think. Don't be daft.

They don't have a brain, ears or eyes. It's a fucking doll.

I put quotes for "see", "hear" and "think" to show its not real but simulated, which they can do.
Google it

As robots interact more with humans, audio has become more important. Audio components like microphones and speakers, are used for speech recognition so that a person can talk to a robot, and it will be able to “understand” and then respond, using AI.

It's the ultimate objectification of women and I guess it will lead to further implications on how women are perceived by men.

The men who would use these robots and men who would date real women are not two different groups.

Yes, worrying.

handydandynotebook · 20/05/2023 06:57

The sort of men who use these are not men I'd want to date so no threat there.

rwalker · 20/05/2023 07:02

It’s a wank aid granted a step up from flesh lights or a woman having a vibrator

maddening · 20/05/2023 07:07

I think the issue lies at a societal level - implications to human relationships, attitudes to women, sexual disassociation, rise of fetishism - already seen from rise of hard-core porn.

Desperatelywantinganother · 20/05/2023 07:09

There’s a Rick and Morty episode that starts off like this. Except it turns into an adaptation of H.G. Wells’ The Time Machine where the male aliens are the Morlocks and the female aliens the Eloi and the females use sex robots to collect sperm and reproduce without having to interact with the males.
