Female sex robot?

SweetiePi3 · 19/05/2023 13:04

I just saw online that for £3,500 a variety of 5'1 tall female robots using AI can be bought for sex. AIBU for seeing this as a threat to us?. Men always seem to want strings free relationships and a girl that is compliant and never complains seems to be every man's dream girl. I absolutely hate the idea!

I’m all for these sex robots removing the idiots from the dating pool for younger generations 🤷🏻‍♀️ if they want a relationship with a plastic covered robot then this is one less woman to suffer their misogyny

They aren't plastic, apparently they're extremely tactile and lifelike in every respect.

Ummm a threat? Not for the sort of person I'd want to be with. Just another useful tool to thin out the pool of blokes that only ever talk at your tits anyway!

Hmm.
Possibly, but not in the obvious way.
If a man would rather fuck a robot than fuck me, good luck to him. My confidence is not one whit abated by the availability of dolls that are better looking than I am.
If having robots available encourages men to practice the abuse of women seen in porn, which they later transfer to their experiences with actual women, then it's a bad thing and an indirect threat.

This

A man who is depraved enough to use this will at some time get bored/novelty wears off. So he tries his luck with a human woman and as his neural pathways are so grounded to the way he treats his sexbot he behaves the same way.

Anything which literally reinforces the idea that women are fuck holes is not a good thing

The plus side is they won't be able to get a robot pregnant so their genes won't be passed on.

This is true

I don't have much to look at, they're big busted and gorgeous.

Spot on. I'm happy that it will make it easier to spot the type of man who would want this. On the other hand, I worry about a generation in which using women as objects becomes even more normalised. I'd worry that they would "train" their sexual preferences on this robot, much like many men do now with violent pornography, and then look to get this type of sex from real women.

I do not think that we benefit from having the association between women and sex robots reinforced. And surely actual sex robots that look like women do reinforce this association.

Yes, exactly. Nothing that encourages actual women being treated as disposable, mindless semen receptacles is a good thing, and it would worry me that this was a likely consequence of sex robots.

Absolutely. Those neural pathways in that sick little head will be well and truly stuck

I find this quite cheering.

This!

Dolls have been around for many years and this is simply an upgrade.

lemmein · 19/05/2023 13:56

Doesn't bother me. I imagine many women on here who are coerced into sex by their sulky shitty partners would much prefer them to have a robot to pester.

BigFatLiar · 19/05/2023 13:57

Expensive sex toy, who cares. Women have a much more varied and extensive range of sex toys available and these are pretty main stream. Why would you complain about men using sex toys.

ImOutside · 19/05/2023 14:06

It's likely coming, whether you want it or not.
It's difficult to correctly estimate the consequences of something like this.

Maybe very few men want them and nothing changes.
Maybe a proportion of men exclusively pair up with robots, wipe themselves out of the gene pool and end up creating a selection pressure for men who are really into real women so it all resolves itself within a few generations.
Maybe there's a significant reduction to the male dating pool, leading to more competition between women and lowered standards.
Maybe a

The closest proxy is probably prostitution. I don't know a single man who has ever stated that they pay for sex, but take a look at a site like adultwork and you'll probably find you're closer to a sex worker than a gym. They can't only be making money from social recluses in dirty anoraks.

Sex and relationships are one of those domains where it's almost impossible to get an honest gauge on what people want or will actually do.

Bedtimemode · 19/05/2023 14:06

I don't feel threatened by AI sex bots, no.

I am curious what they look like but equally don't really want it in my search history 🤔

WaltzingWaters · 19/05/2023 14:07

I sure as hell wouldn’t want to be with a guy who wants a relationship or just sex with a doll rather than a human. So good to get them out the way.

Looks like both sexes use them (admittedly these don’t have a physical form….yet).

I don't like his elbows.

x2boys · 19/05/2023 14:09

So you have never heard of a vibrator?

Worldgonecrazy · 19/05/2023 14:09

Was this thread started by an uncle? Is it the summer holidays already? Really weird take on things from the OP.

Nesbi · 19/05/2023 14:11

Interesting to compare this thread to one I saw this morning about people (women) owning hyper real “reborn” dolls, dressing them, treating them almost as if they were real.

some people found it weird and creepy but a lot of people on the thread were quite angry at the thought of women being judged for owning these dolls. This was regardless of whether the doll was owned to help someone deal with grief, dementia or just because they liked having one.

Seems to be a bit less concern about anyone being judged for owning one of these sex dolls, but if someone is lonely and if they are trying to fill an emotional/physical need is there any more reason to judge one and not the other!

(I’ll be honest - I judge both as being weird!)

It does have an incel vibe about it "ha ha, don't care that women don't want us, now we can buy a doll that's just as good, no better! than women. Women should be shitting themselves that their reign of power is over"

OPs 3rd post where she (allegedly she) says she "doesn’t have much to look at but the dolls are big-busted and gorgeous" makes me even more sceptical.

Prettylittleroses · 19/05/2023 14:25

I think what is more concerning is you think this threatens you and that’s what men want. That’s really disturbing, what has your relationship history been like or your parents, that’s let you to believe thus us what men want and not a partner, a family etc

No-one is suggesting the reborn dolls are a threat to replacing real children though.

OP was suggesting a sex doll is in danger of replacing live women.

Soubriquet · 19/05/2023 14:27

A threat? To us? To women?

No way. If a man wants to take his perversion out on a robot, let him rock on.

JaneJeffer · 19/05/2023 14:33

Probably just as absurd!

I don’t think women are in any more danger of being replaced by sex dolls than babies are in danger of being replaced by reborn dolls (and bear in mind with advancing technology at some point those dolls might behave much more like babies in terms of sounds, movements, response to stimuli like soothing words etc).!
