Do you keep your toilet bleach in the bathroom?

As the title says… do you keep your domestos or other toilet bleach in the bathroom?

if so, where? Next to the loo, in a cupboard? If not, where in the house?

Please help settle a dispute with my boyfriend as to where the bleach belongs on the house.. it’s getting contentious now 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Other toilet cleaners are available.

Some, including more generic ingredients, are just as horrid but work better in hard water areas to remove limescale.

Thankfully hard water is not a big problem where we are.

I wonder if toilet cleaners are perhaps the bigger devil than bleach though. Aswell as containing disinfectant they must surely contain a bigger cocktail of chemicals than bleach with all the added colouring and fragrance. I do like the green toilet duck though.

One in each bathroom, next to the loo. Then one in the kitchen. When the utility goes in there’ll be one in there too.

IMO chlorine bleach has no place in a house. It's not necessary, it's a horribly noxious chemical, and putting it down your toilet eventually roughens the smooth surface making stuff stick more.

We don't get d/v bugs due to the lack of bleach in the house.

To be fair I use an eco friendly, non bleach based loo cleaner it’s better for the septic tank. However to me all loo cleaners = bleach in the same way that all vacuum cleaners = hoovers. I know they aren’t really but can’t be bothered to change.

jacqui5366 · 08/05/2023 15:50

Buy another bottle for the loo - a pink fragrant one

mamabear715 · 08/05/2023 15:51

In each loo & under the kitchen sink. (No small children.)

We have toilet duck and thin bleach in the BATHROOM Cabinet and thick bleach and zoflora under the kitchen sink. If we didn't have a bathroom cabinet I would just have it in the kitchen as but ugly on display

We have no young children so keep it in one of those Joseph Joseph toilet brush holders, so probably 2 MN faux pas there

I have one of these too. With the matching soap dish, liquid soap dispenser and toothbrush holder across the room at the sink. Blush

quietnightmare · 08/05/2023 15:58

None helpful response from me as downstairs I keep it in the cabinet in the bathroom and then have one ups it's by the loo(but you can't see it unless you know it's there) so both in my house and then to top it all off I have usually a spare one under the kitchen sink

Duckcurtains · 08/05/2023 16:00

When DC were small I kept it in the hall cupboard, on a high shelf outside the loo.

Now there's one on the windowsill in the bathroom and the downstairs loo.

FourTeaFallOut · 08/05/2023 16:05

We don't use bleach anywhere in the house but the toilet cleaner is in a cabinet in the bathroom. When the kids were little it was in a cupboard under the sink which had a catch on with other cleaning stuff which could be dangerous.

Ineedsleepandcoffee · 08/05/2023 16:07

In the bathroom on a shelf out of reach of small children

Arewehumanorarewecupboards · 08/05/2023 16:09

With the rest of our cleaning products- in the cupboard under the kitchen sink.

Bayleaf25 · 08/05/2023 16:09

NancyJoan · 07/05/2023 16:11

Yes. On the floor, next to the loo.

Yes, this.

RoseMartha · 08/05/2023 16:09

Under normal circumstances the bathroom.

My eldest has SN and mh issues I have to keep it locked away.

StrawberryWater · 08/05/2023 16:11

In a cupboard next to the loo where we keep all the chemicals / paints and assorted junk.

Okunevo · 08/05/2023 16:12

Next to the loo

Wexone · 08/05/2023 16:15

Sorry don't use separate bleach for kitchen or toilet - all kept in under the sink. One bottle for whole house. I hate having bottles everywhere with bits in it. Just moved in with to house own by mother in law and she has bottles every where with bits in them slowly using them all up and throwing each one away then one bottle n caddy under sink for cleaning. Bathroom cleaner and kitchen cleaner kept in same caddy

Sparrow91 · 07/05/2023 16:17

thank you for the range of responses…

me viewpoint is that toilet bleach belongs to the bathroom, preferably next to the loo.

DP, keeps his in the kitchen. Which is downstairs and far far away from the loo 🤯

I just think I’m never going to poop at his house ever 🤣

You cana lways do what I do and keep them in bathrooms AND kitchen😂
Everyone is happy

mathanxiety · 08/05/2023 16:20

In a cupboard in the bathroom. If I didn't have a bathroom cupboard I'd keep it on the floor beside the loo.

The kitchen bleach is in a cupboard in the kitchen.

Lcb123 · 08/05/2023 16:23

I have one bottle under the sink, very rarely used. I certainly wouldn’t want it lying around.

womenoftheworldtakeover · 08/05/2023 16:25

We have 3 toilets and I have a bottle next to each.

Squirrelblanket · 08/05/2023 16:26

It's kept in the spare room (used as a storage room) in a caddy with the rest of the upstairs cleaning products. We don't have the space in the bathroom.

pontipinemum · 08/05/2023 16:37

Currently it's in the bathroom beside/ behind he loo but it will soon be moved probably to the utility room with all other cleaning products as DS is on the move.

Sparrow91 · 08/05/2023 18:31

Thank you everyone!

You will be pleased to hear he has taken on board the resounding responses that there should be bleach in a bathroom.. I went to the loo last night to find a bottle of toilet bleach and bathroom bleach in front of the loo 🤣🤣

I’ve never been so pleased to have a whizz around with some domestos this morning 🤣😍
