To think William should have made more effort

To learn that one line pledge to his father? He read from a card looking sideways most of the way through it, and he looked like he was bored and rushing through it. Looked terrible on screen.

I know he's lazy but it wasn't too much to ask for, was it - to memorise that line and at least fake a bit of sincerity?

I noticed the 14 year old boy at the start was the only one not reading from cards. Speaks volumes!

Agreed

He is probably the only one where if he has made an error the response would have been “bless him” rather than he should have tried harder/why didn’t he have a prompt!

AskMeMore · 06/05/2023 20:11

No the 14 year old boy was the only one to take it seriously and do prep. The rest knew they did not need to do this.

Good choice of username - exactly what I was thinking whilst reading your embarrassingly dim post.

Oh bless you, I’m not embarrassed by it, I don’t think it’s dim. So your opinion is irrelevant- never mind eh😂

AskMeMore · 06/05/2023 20:08

Agreed

Yet there he was with the words of what he was singing in front of him- was he lazy about his singing??

KimberleyClark · 06/05/2023 20:19

I thought the Archbish was great today. He was smiling at one point which was more than anyone else did.

So you're suggesting no-one else took it seriously or did any prep - Justin Welby, Penny Mordaunt, Dr David Hoyle, Baroness Amos, Iain Green Shields etc etc - all just decided to wing it.

I can just imagine the frothing if one of them had made a mistake.

Inkpotlover · 06/05/2023 20:25

Oh come on, OP He's on his knees in front of a TV audience of millions on the biggest day of his father's life and you've started a thread to have a pop because he wanted a cue card handy to make sure he didn't fluff a ridiculously antiquated speech? Give your head a wobble.

They were all out on the lash last night; he’s probably knackered. Zara and Mike rolled in at 2am apparently. No wonder Kate’s got bags today!

😂😂😂

Really? So you royalists are quite happy to excuse a flippant, sub-par, banal performance from the HEIR because sincerity is too much to expect?

Clearly I'm too idealistic and expect too much.

You incessant moaners on here today are every bit as pathetic as the royal stans.

Today could mumsnet get any lower?

There was a zoomed in photo of the king's teeth and a whole thread on how bad they are. So yeah.

Of course it’s reliable. Their job is to make the case for a republic, using lies would go against them, they can’t get away with making things up like the UK MSM do. But you just stay on your knees believing and doing what you’re told.

There's someone on here who quotes a lot from Republic, and the facts they report are definitely not true. They're very skewed to win people to the republican side. I'm not saying I blame them for that, but it does make what they say unreliable. I mean didn't Boris Johnson tell lies to win people to the Brexit cause? So publishing untruths and lies can be a successful strategy.

Your final remark is just childish and undermines any intellectual argument you might make. 🙄

I know, it's awful. Come back to the other one for the vol-u-vents!

Maireas · 06/05/2023 20:43

Oh, yes. Poor Harry. William ate all his vol au vents.

You know everyone on this thread is now thinking 'WTF, I don't remember seeing vol-u-vents at the Abbey' 😂 😂 😂 😂

Oh my god, @Inkpotlover these threads keep coming!

the80sweregreat · 06/05/2023 20:56

Prince William looks to me as if his been on a diet.
Someone else had his vol u vents.
Is my guess.

I do hope not. Camilla shoplifted them especially for the occasion.

I suppose that was one way to get them out of Waitrose without being spotted by security.

How could I possibly get into any intellectual argument in response to that utter drivel, the response was appropriate for the recipient.

The information is there if you look for it, Republic do the research and present it, it’s absolutely nothing like Boris and his bus.

She managed to get those shelf brackets out of B&Q no bother.
