Harry forced to watch his dads affair partner in the place his mum should have been

I feel so sorry for him. It would eat me up if I had to watch Camilla smiling and waving in the spotlight. She tormented his mother and wife. She (and his dad of course) spoiled his childhood.

Charles and Di shouldn't have been together. They were kind of forced together. If they'd both be left to marry who they wanted they both would have been happy. I actually quite like camilla now and I think her and Charles are good together. Harry will be bothered by it like any kid is but I think he's at peace with it now. And yes I have read his book.

I’ve always found it utterly bizarre that Diana has this saintly image when she had multiple affairs with married men. Camilla had a long standing affair with a man she truly loved and went on to marry. She has stood beside him for decades. Diana flitted about from man to man with no regard for the chaos in her wake.

I was never a fan of hers I didn't dislike her but couldn't understand her popularity and everything she did seemed fake and manipulated.

He shouldn't have to sit away from them though just for moving to America. That's so backwards

This is a very good point. Also given C&D hardly knew each other before marriage, it was hardly the love story of the century and clearly a marriage of convenience. He was with Diana's sister before Diana!! People also seem to brush over that. Out of the whole sorry saga, that part really gives me the ick!

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 06/05/2023 12:41

Why does it have to be solemn? It can be religious and a bit less like a funeral? They could have chosen more uplifting music
😆🙈

Gilmorehill · 06/05/2023 12:42

I loved and admired Diana but she had several affairs including with a married man. They were both unhappy. It’s good Charles had a happy second marriage and very sad that Diana didn’t get the chance.

Whatever the boys did at the funeral would be wrong for somebody. My mum died when I was 11,i wasn't allowed to go to the funeral as it was thought to be too upsetting.

Gosh that's really terrible for you, I'm sorry to read this Flowers

I don’t. I’m sat in the hairdressers watching the coronation, saw Harry walk in and wondered what it would be like to be in the unique position of watching your dads affair partner paraded on international tv.

I thought it must drag up difficult memories. I’m hardly sat at home, curtains closed, crying whilst dressed in flags, Diana memorabilia all around me and a copy of the the Express.

It’s just a bit of chat. The whole coronation is a bit ridiculous so I can’t see why some vintage royal chit chat can ruin it in anyway. Some of my detractors on here are acting way more triggered than me.

You are in the hairdressers watching the Coronation?!!! 😂 And that's the only reason you are watching it???? Fuck me, I've heard it all now. Grin

I am inclined to believe that this is what you actually ARE doing. Grin

Agree with this 🤣🤣🤣

HarrysChild · 06/05/2023 12:45

Interesting that you don’t include William because “he is less emotional” “indoctrinated” and because of “his own affair”. I’d have thought you’d be at the coronation, given you are so close to the family to know these things OP 🤷‍♀️

Endlesssummer2022 · 06/05/2023 12:34

To be fair to Camilla right now though, she looks properly bored. She probably wishes she’d stayed with her first DH and swerved this utter yawnfest.

I doubt it. Her ex-husband is attending too.

Do you judge all relationship breakdowns this harshly? Do you refer to second wives /husbands as ‘affair partners’ in real life? Would you advise your family and friends to stay in unhappy relationships? Relationships end, divorce happens, and only the people within the couple know exactly what happened in that relationship. Not condoning affairs but it seem inconsistent to bash Charles and Camilla unless you’re judging all divorcees in your life.

Maireas · 06/05/2023 12:47

Wasn't the "older woman" 21 or there abouts and one of his set hardly a huge scandal Harry is a ridiculous man he honestly is.

I totally agree, and I think Meghan is seriously regretting getting mixed up in all this. I don't blame her for nor attending today, or for swerving all the press coverage over the book.

YouWonJayne · 06/05/2023 12:38

Source??

Tony Blair demanded it same as pulling them from Balmoral to calm the masses over there lack of statement it was well known at the time they wanted to keep the boys safe in Scotland to grieve

Maireas · 06/05/2023 12:49

Let it go.
Harry didn't have to attend. He's there smiling and chatting.

VivaciousRadish · 06/05/2023 12:49

I’m not being rude but you really need to get a hobby that doesn’t involve OTHER PEOPLES lives.

Whenharrymetsmelly · 06/05/2023 12:45

Well you don’t have to believe me but it’s true. It’s on the telly here so we’re all half watching it and having a chit chat and I’m on here as well. If I was at home I’d be doing stuff with my family. I’d probably watch a bit of it but not hours of church service so I’m a bit bored. But if you want to imagine I’m sat at home crying into my Diana mug with the curtains closed then crack on. It’s not like you know me IRL so I’m not fussed either way.

I really think you need to get over the divorce! Diana and Charles were actually friends towards the end of her life, and until very recently Harry said he liked Camilla… did you ever get over the break up of Take That or Brad and Angelina or are you still heartbroken over those too?

Honestly everyone in the family has moved on and so should you too.. life is too short to hold grudges on people you probably don’t know!! Move on !!

Mumuser124 · 06/05/2023 12:50

If Charles was committed to his marriage with Diana, there would have been no affair. I highly doubt Charles and Dianna would have still been together if Camilla did not exist. They were not well suited and that shows with the lack of commitment. Charles has been in a relationship with camilla for almost 30 years so it’s not as though he is somebody that cannot have a long term relationship with somebody.

It is very unfortunate that Diana tragically died but I don’t think that can be blamed on Camilla.

Boomboom22 · 06/05/2023 12:50

I've always thought Camilla was a nicer person than Diana, who was emotionally manipulative and seemed not to be a very stable mother. Charles didn't help but she was of the aristocracy and knew full well it wasn't a love match. Camilla has always come across as lovely, a good mum and grandmother and feminist.

Gettingbysomehow · 06/05/2023 12:52

Harry wasn't forced to do anything. He didn't have to go.

Sausage1989 · 06/05/2023 12:52

Totally 1000000% agree with you OP.
