Harry forced to watch his dads affair partner in the place his mum should have been

I feel so sorry for him. It would eat me up if I had to watch Camilla smiling and waving in the spotlight. She tormented his mother and wife. She (and his dad of course) spoiled his childhood.

I loved Diana but she was no angel and flaunted a string of men. The only difference was that Charles was discreet.

As a result of my non attendance I thought fir ages that she wasn't dead but on a vegetive state somewhere, due to a comment made by a well meaning relative. It took me ages to come to terms with her death. It's really hard to get things right, sometimes. Trying to protect isn't always best.

Jesus wept, get a life.

One that shows concern for the many who live a life without privilege.

Beezknees · 06/05/2023 12:26

Camilla wasn't just his his affair partner though was she. She is the love of his life. She was there before Diana and she's still here after. Charles married Diana out of a sense of duty, not love and it was obvious to everyone. I'm sure Diana herself realised that eventually. She was naive and young. They never should have married in the first place.

I'm a republican so I don't care a jot for the royals but get a grip honestly. He's not the first man to have an affair.

Soakitup37 · 06/05/2023 12:27

Utter tosh!

BillyNoM8s · 06/05/2023 12:27

Threads like these are fucking nuts.

They were mismatched from the get go and should never have been forced to marry in the first place.

Are you this judgemental and ridiculous with the many other divorcees in your life?

tiggergoesbounce · 06/05/2023 12:28

And you know for a fact that they were "forced" to walk behind her coffin do you?

Yes, i do. It's a well-known fact. They were children and told they were to walk as a sign of tradition, something Charles had later said he regretted. A disgrace using them as pawns in the royal families publicity at such a time.

BibbleandSqwauk · 06/05/2023 12:28

As far as the tampon thing goes..I remember it too, and it was awful...would any of us like our intimate sex talk on the front pages of national newspapers? A private phone call, recorded and published...that's what is awful and disgusting.

With just one woman, who he then went on to marry.

IrregularChoiceFan · 06/05/2023 12:29

Harry will be loving it, more professional victim events to put in his next book.

After all the loss of virginity crap, knowing it would drag any 'older' woman he was friends with at the time out into the public eye with speculation and ridicule made me lose what limited respect I had for him.

He want privacy does he? Not for anyone else clearly.

If Charles wasn’t trying to be Camilla’s tampon, they would probably still be together and she would never have been in a tunnel with Dodi.

I doubt that very much. They were a very ill matched couple.

Nah. He was in love with Camilla before he was made to marry Diana. It’s the family’s and monarchy’s fault for not letting him marry who he wanted the first time. I’m not a royal fan but I’m happy that he was allowed to marry her

Wasn't the "older woman" 21 or there abouts and one of his set hardly a huge scandal Harry is a ridiculous man he honestly is.

knobheeeed · 06/05/2023 12:33

If it hadn't been Camilla, it would have been someone else. Charles and Diana weren't suited to one another. They would have ended up divorced anyway. Diana was also having affairs.
Diana sadly died. So even if Charles had not later married Camilla, he most likely would have remarried anyway, so Harry (and William) would have had to watch their father being crowned and another woman being crowned queen, instead of their mother.
Harry has had decades to get used to Camilla. If he's still got issues with it he didn't have to show up today if he didn't want to.

Endlesssummer2022 · 06/05/2023 12:34

To be fair to Camilla right now though, she looks properly bored. She probably wishes she’d stayed with her first DH and swerved this utter yawnfest.

ilovebagpuss · 06/05/2023 12:35

She would probably have been laughing it up on a yacht with whoever she had remarried or visiting with Meghan. I'm sure she wouldn't have wanted to stay with Charles even without Camilla being the 3rd person etc etc.
It's just more tragic as of course she didn't get her second chance with someone.

BibbleandSqwauk · 06/05/2023 12:35

I don't think she looks bored at all. You obviously dislike her and this whole thing so why are you even on here sniping?

GabriellaMontez · 06/05/2023 12:37

Who forced him to fly here in a private jet?

BibbleandSqwauk · 06/05/2023 12:37

It's a solemn and serious event with centuries of tradition and symbolism behind it...should she be grinning and chatting?

She doesn't look bored she is supposed to look like that it's a serious event .

SprinklesMcDoodles · 06/05/2023 12:38

I’ve always found it utterly bizarre that Diana has this saintly image when she had multiple affairs with married men. Camilla had a long standing affair with a man she truly loved and went on to marry. She has stood beside him for decades. Diana flitted about from man to man with no regard for the chaos in her wake.

A "well-known fact" - really?? You seem to be very intimate with the Royal Family to know all this. I have heard a completely different story, as have others - it has already been mentioned on this thread.

Why does it have to be solemn? It can be religious and a bit less like a funeral? They could have chosen more uplifting music.
