Againstmachine - It depends where you are though doesn't it with your every day item. I mean knives are every day items but if a person has one on them in a nightclub, it's obvious what their intention is. Context is everything.

countrygirl99 · 06/05/2023 18:17

And straps etc to secure items in the back of a van can be totally innocent.

DuncinToffee · 06/05/2023 18:21

Nobody was carrying knives in this context

Secure their signs to what? People’s hands?

Railings? Lamp posts?

Why are people minimising and defending the actions of the police?

Roussette · 06/05/2023 18:30

One good thing. This has gone viral literally everywhere. US, Canada, Europe. Good

cakeorwine · 06/05/2023 18:32

They are still being held at a police station.

They are still being held at a police station.

This will bring a lot of publicity to Republic. Good.

IClaudine · 06/05/2023 18:35

That is appalling. I wonder how the police are justifying holding them.

CNN and WaPo (Washington Post) are all over it

As Sergeant Wilson would have said "Do you think this is wise, Sir"

And holding them for 11 hours. It just strengthens people's resolve

America- the beacon of sanity, personal freedoms and amazing police.

3dogsandarabbit · 06/05/2023 18:46

Roussette - On CNN's news site it's the 10th news item, items 1-9 are about the actual coronation, so not all over it at all.

DuncinToffee · 06/05/2023 18:47

The peaceful protest would have gathered a lot less attention than these arrests.

I have seen reports a lot of reports in France and Europe... are they to be dismissed too?

Of course. They love the RF, well some of them do.

But anyone saying it isn't going anywhere but here is wrong.

This is crazy, getting arrested because they think you are carrying cooking ingredients.

A group that volunteer with the Westminster Night Safety team were reportedly arrested by the MET Police at 2 am and held for 14 hours. Kept in handcuffs for 3 hours. And their offence? Being in possession of rape alarms to hand out to women.

Even worse, just noticed that the Night Safety Team volunteer in partnership with....the Met! Arrested by the Territorial Support Group, a uniformed unit of the Met.

cakeorwine · 06/05/2023 19:02

Apparently Patrick was recognised by the cameras and then arrested.

So basically arrested for having his own face

EndOfEternity · 06/05/2023 19:08

Quite surprised so many people vehemently against protest and commenting to critique your point of view OP 😉

BorgQueen · 06/05/2023 19:12

The rape alarms could have been used to spook the horses setting off a stampede that could have killed people. Are people so dim they didn’t think of that?
