Went to fuel up today and paid for a car wash.

I drove around the to the start of the car wash and there was a car parked there, which I thought was odd as Id been the only person in the shop.

A man got out of his car and then wandered to the shop.

Menopausal rage ensued and I thought I wasn't having him push in. Obviously the convention is you get your ticket first then get in the queue.

So I drove around the front and precision reversed in.

Got out the car and put my code in as he walked back from the shop.

Apparently I'm a fucking bitch for doing this, according to the charmer in the parked audi.

So, Aibu to reclaim my rightful place in the queue?

I'd have parked around the back and then manoeuvred to the entrance when I had purchased the code for the wash.

Is it actually possible to reverse in? Don't plates come up blocking the exit until the carwash has done its thing?

Precision reversing sounds a bit pretentious. Its just reversing. It should be precise.

Anyway, I don't think you did anything wrong. Next time just do the same and hope no one reverses precisely or otherwise into the car wash.

Luckily my car wash lets you pay at the wash itself so this problem is avoided.

I was nearly in this situation a few weeks ago.
Van pulled up blocking the entrance, no way round to be able to reverse in as car wash exited onto a roundabout.

Managed to wave him down as he walked across to get his ticket. He moved but wasn't happy about it.

Pp on here are confusing.
If they dont know the procedure, there's a time to learn and get over your pride when you discover you've been inconsiderate to strangers.

Why should I have to sit and wait for someone to go into the shop, perhaps browse around and then get their ticket and wander back to where they have essentially "seat saved " with their vehicle?

Totally agree with you. I genuinely don't understand the way people work these days sometimes.

It's a different mindset and a different set of manners - god forbid they're not inconvenienced in any way #mefirst #dontcarehowlongyouwait

Where I am the car wash exit is completely open unless there is an actual car wash happening. Might be same for OP, although I was imagining this as if there was enough space before the car wash entry to reverse into and not reversing through the whole thing? I may be wrong!

Being verbally aggressive is not only petty but illegal (if you're putting someone in a state of fear or alarm which I know I would be if a random man started using aggressive language towards me...and why is it his right to react to something that annoyed him but not OP? Because he's a man?)

This Makes no sense, people dont reverse into car washes. And with that logic you would have no problem if you parked up went in to get a ticket then drove round to the car wash, and as you were fiddling with your bag to get your ticket perhaps , I pull up and reverse into the car wash before you can get out of your car and enter the code as unbeknownst to you I brought my ticket yesterday. 🤣

Any car wash I have ever been to the car is placed in the line then the driver goes and gets a ticket/code.

I would have been pissed off if you had done that to me but wouldn’t have sworn at you. I would have just got in my car and waited while thinking it was a strange thing to do🤷🏼‍♀️

Same for me. Although ours has just changed to pay at the entrance.

Its only acceptable to leave your car in the queue IF there are other cars in front. If there are no other cars and you are literally blocking anyone else from using it while you purchase your ticket you are cheeky scrote.

Well, no. If you're in your car it's obvious you're about to use it. If you both have tickets it's who is there first, ready to use it. If you leave your car to get a ticket then you are not ready to use it so all you're doing is blocking someone who is. If you bought the ticket yesterday you wouldn't leave your car abandoned to browse the shop while expecting others to wait so your scenario is not comparable.

YANBU the car wash was empty and he was blocking it. You might have even had your wash done before he returned if you hadn't had to reverse in. Imagine if everyone blocked the way for an extra 5 minutes before using it, it would soon add up.

I'm with you OP, the inconsiderate Audi wanker should not have blocked the entire car wash rendering it unuseable for anyone else. Selfish moron got what he deserved, which is someone who got there before him using the car wash before him. Poor behaviour all around on his part.

Neither of you covered yourselves in glory tbh.
There's no hard and fast rule to the purchasing of a car wash ticket and whichever way it went, the most either of you would have had to wait is 3 or 4 minutes, I don't understand the level of rage from either of you!

What's with all the Audi driver hate? Audis are decent cars which is why they are driven by loads of people, some of whom will be dickheads,just as those driving other cars will be.
