My mum has always had some weird ideas about what's age appropriate for adults. Women over 30 shouldn't have long hair, for example.

She was telling me yesterday about having lunch with a friend who is in her 80s and turned up wearing jeans. "What's she doing wearing jeans at her age?" I suggested that she might be happy wearing jeans and comfortable in them and that there isn't an age limit. Oh yes there are, says Mum, "older people" shouldn't be wearing jeans.

Weirdo, isn't she?

I think its a generational thing - my mum would have been 90 if still alive, "Ladies" were not supposed to wear jeans, they were work wear. She used to refer to my best friends mum as "that woman who wears jeans"🙄

I'm nearly 45 and jeans, leather jackets and boots are my go-to. And I have long blond hair, so I'm breaking ALL kinds of rules. Shock horror!

The golden style rule is that there are NO rules! If I like something and think I look good in it, I'll wear it.
And if that happens to be a shocking pink boiler suit when I'm 90, there is no one on this earth that will tell me I won't.
In fact, if they did, I'd be even more inclined to wear it! 😁

In my experience, people that have strong opinions on how others should look, aren't content within themselves and are just projecting.

I love this! Am amazed at some of the previous comments tbh. People of all ages look fine in jeans if they fit well. Utterly bizarre to think they're 'not allowed' once you hit a certain age. WTAF like !?!

I'm 71 I started wearing levis at 14, they were gorgeous and borrowed and I hated giving them back. Since then I've pretty much lived in them and DMs and can't see me changing my style now. It's my signature.

60 and just had a new pair of jeans delivered today! 😄
