To wish people would stop saying 'Jesus' all the bloody time

I can't read a thread on here without someone saying "Jesus Christ" or "Jesus wept" or similar.

I'm not a prude AT all and I have no issue with people swearing but as a Christian I find it highly offensive when people throw Jesus' name round in a negative way, without a thought for others' feelings and religions.

Most people wouldn't dream of using words that were offensive to other religions so why is it acceptable when it's 'Jesus?'.

This is a genuine message to ask people to PLEASE think before they post/speak.

Wow, I honestly thought it was only me who felt this way. It makes me wince too. My husband is not a Christian and he does this. And my mum claims to be but she's a bit lukewarm and her language is peppered with OMG, OG etc. It just makes the atmosphere negative and horrible. I'd rather say sht and fuck frankly. (Sorry if that offends anyone!)The trouble is, if people don't believe, they aren't going to get it/understand why you feel offended by it, so I think the best thing to do is just express yourself in a way that you feel is appropriate and leave them to get on with it. I'm not saying don't share your faith with them if it feels right, but honestly, pulling someone up on this...it's not going to change them, they will just get arsey and start mocking you. You might as well be speaking a completely different language (all this is in the bible btw). But thanks for the solidarity of feeling - much appreciated OP. 💐
