I actually wanted to hear what it sounded like… as I'd quite like to be informed if a mad dog is roaming my neighborhood, or a hurricane is on the way.

I have a PAYG phone... is that why I didn't get it? I am on EE (formerly Orange).

Anyone else?

I received it, but have heard that many people didn't. Seems the system is not working properly.

somewhereovertherain · 23/04/2023 21:27

Didn’t get to but then I’ve switched it off.

Jellykat · 23/04/2023 21:27

Quite a few didnt get it according to the various threads (including me)

Quveas · 23/04/2023 21:28

Mine worked. Can't say that I'd necessarily notice it in an emergency though! Didn't seem all that impressive.

FeedMeTiramisu · 23/04/2023 21:28

Im on pay as you go with 3 and didn't receive anything. Not fussed either way.

Starlightstarbright1 · 23/04/2023 21:28

I guess thats why its a test

aberlot · 23/04/2023 21:29

What kind of phone?

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 23/04/2023 21:30

I didn't get it. Pay monthly with Vodafone. DH and DD did

Helenma · 23/04/2023 21:32

I got it, my husband and SIL didn't. They're both on different networks and we were all together when it went off.

PinkBuffalo · 23/04/2023 21:33

I did no get it either I am payg with Tesco mobile

IamSmarticus · 23/04/2023 21:37

PAYG will make no difference. You need to have a 4g or 5g enabled smart phone though and I think there was an issue with the 3 network meaning that their users didn't get it.

feejee · 23/04/2023 21:37

My work phone is a PAYG on EE and that went off.

ScottBakula · 23/04/2023 21:39

I got it , contract ee , Samsung android.
My friend didn't , not sure what payment / phone she is on

PickleOfAConundrum · 23/04/2023 21:41

Mine went off in the shop as did my husbands and daughters phone. It was simple to turn it off. I expected it to be loud but it wasn't though my hearing is shite so could have been that I suppose 😂. Mine is PAYG so it's not the reasons not to be going off. My daughter has an iPad and it went off as well.

aberlot · 23/04/2023 21:41

It's doesn't matter of you have a contract or pay as you go. Some networks had problems but the main factor while he which handset you have, then which software you are running.

murasaki · 23/04/2023 21:42

No, contract on three. Dp on Vodafone got it a minute early.

murasaki · 23/04/2023 21:42

It'd better not arrive in the middle of the night...

DisquietintheRanks · 23/04/2023 21:42

None of us got it. 3x Samsung phones on contract.

JewelTheft · 23/04/2023 21:43

5 mobiles in our house at 3pm... three receieved it ( two are contract, one PAYG) and two didn't (both contract). Seems quite random as to whether you received it or not, based on my very small sample size.

CrunchyCarrot · 23/04/2023 21:43

Android, 4G, O2 - Not a peep out of it.

cocksstrideintheevening · 23/04/2023 21:44

I was on Sainsbury’s I did and plenty of other people did. There where a lot of 'what the fuck is this'

cheshirecatssmile · 23/04/2023 21:44

iPhone 4g o2

northernlola · 23/04/2023 21:45

I was with three friends at the time. Two of us got it, two didn't. Couldn't seem to work out any logical reason why.

CoozudBoyuPuak · 23/04/2023 21:45

I didn't get it either. I am doomed to die in a forest fire, flood or terrorist attack or other danger that I could have been warned of if the system worked.

brokenarmabroad · 23/04/2023 21:46

4 out of 5 got it in our house. All O2, all 4G enabled, all Android but different handsets.
