I'm interested to hear what it sounds like. For it to be going off all over the country at once, in all households and shops is exciting.

It's something completely new and feels kinda like something from Black mirror.

Maybe I'm just weird 😂

As NATO/EU/US are busy hurrying us to WWIII without voters having any say in the matter, it's exciting but not in a good way.

Eh? Really?

I'm quite looking forward to it too. I'm happy about it, no anxiety problems or another phone to hide, so for me it's an interesting experience. DH and I will both have our phones on and ready.

Having had a relative survive an event due to getting a warning in another country I'm just pleased that the UK is finally catching up.

I have to know. What was the event? I'm picturing a tsunami 🤔

Saw a tweet this morning
'What happens if there is actually an emergency at 3pm' 😀😃😄

Indeed. But also, I hope it does work after all this!

Viviennemary · 23/04/2023 14:54

Me too. I'm quite looking forward to it in a strange sort of way.

My newborn son is fast asleep on me but it’s a risk I’m willing to take for curiosity!

Anxietyrules247 · 23/04/2023 14:55

This thread just shows how cruel people are, "watching for people's reactions".

I suppose you are the same people who watch for people to react when they accidentally drop their cup of tea in a cafe, or when they trip on the stairs, or when they are trying to calm down a crying child, or struggling with a disabled child lying on the floor.
Just watch for reactions rather than offering support or asking if they are okay!

TeenLifeMum · 23/04/2023 14:55

Dd is hoping it’ll help her find her phone! 😆

itsgettingweird · 23/04/2023 14:55

Just logged onto out regional swimming comp (ds is a swimmer and some team mates are there I'm not some weird stalker!) and they've already paused the proceedings at 2.50.

fashionbusinessAB · 23/04/2023 14:55

regardless of any time duration , it could still be a slight panic to some people, doesn’t matter if it’s 10 seconds or 1 seconds . It’s still labelled as an alert

itsgettingweird · 23/04/2023 14:56

I also wonder if it will be very quiet in prisons and the guards will be listening in for muffled bleeps (?) from someone's bum!

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

TheNine · 23/04/2023 14:57

Yes it feels like we’re living history! School children will write about it in their history exams in 100 years… if it does turn out ww3 is around the corner 😅😩

itsgettingweird · 23/04/2023 14:57

It's really sad I'm sat here anticipating it 🫣🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

It'll be funny if Putin decides to nuke us at 5 to 3 and they have to set the alarm off 5 minutes early and everyone will go, "fecking government, they couldn't even get the timing right! ... did anyone hear a bang?"

This made me laugh out loud Grin

I'm with you Op - weirdly excited!

Ilovetocrochet · 23/04/2023 14:57

I’m waiting!

Quite the leap there for goodness sake.

SwapTheYforaD · 23/04/2023 14:58

2 minutes to go!

Is it going to go off when mobiles say 3:00? Or somewhere between 3:00-3:01?

extrasushiplease · 23/04/2023 14:58

I’m just feel bad for anyone in the middle of a wedding ceremony or funeral services!
