To be a bit excited about the 3pm alarm?

I'm interested to hear what it sounds like. For it to be going off all over the country at once, in all households and shops is exciting.

It's something completely new and feels kinda like something from Black mirror.

Maybe I'm just weird 😂

Neither mine nor DP's went off. Don't know about DS1 as he's out. DS2's worked though.

Nothing here. I wasn't expecting it on my phone because it's not smart enough, but I thought I'd hear it from neighbouring flats.

Those saying if you're connected to the phone mast, you get it. I'm connected to the WiFi at home, but I've got signal which is arguably connected to the mast.

My phone was on do not disturb so I got the message and no noise... Several friends were waiting and didn't get any noise either.

Maybe it's network related. Ours are all on 3 and we got nothing - seems the same for other posters.

2.59 for me and no voice?! Just the siren.

Same for dh but he had the volume down on his phone so maybe the siren can sound but it can't read out the text?

DDs phone and mine went off at the same time but hers didn't make a noise, only the message. We're on the same network but she has an older phone that doesn't give you the option to switch of alerts.

Very underwhelming.

3 iPhones here: DH and DS’s both went off with siren and text alert, no voice. Mine did nothing, but I assume that’s because it’s an old phone (6S).
DH and DS are both with Sky mobile, I’m on Tesco.

It’s so 1984 - it’s sinister.

I wokld sign up of its voluntary. Why would I not want to know about a flood/fire/explosion?
3 police officers on a Night Shift will take hours to knock on everyone’s doors by which time access is gone. Or if my child is kidnapped of course I want everyone out their doors looking🙂
We’re the last country to sort. Even poorer nations have wired speakers for sirens. But you do you and don’t complain if you get flooded or no bed or no one looks for your child.
