I'm interested to hear what it sounds like. For it to be going off all over the country at once, in all households and shops is exciting.

It's something completely new and feels kinda like something from Black mirror.

Maybe I'm just weird 😂

For disclosure...I'm (partially) deaf

Did anyone else's phone not make a noise? Or did I not hear mine? Ive got the on-screen message

Emigratingimmigrant · 23/04/2023 15:08

I now miss citywide siren tests😂 they were much jumpier than this.

Itakecreaminmycoffee · 23/04/2023 15:08

I can’t believe people are excited about this.

It’s so 1984 - it’s sinister.

Cornettoninja · 23/04/2023 15:08

@toomuchlaundry or an international super spy to canny to be traced by them…. I’ll leave it up you Grin

Deathraystare · 23/04/2023 15:09

Absolutely zilch!

Mind you our phones don't don't work well in work. We have to go outside to get a signal.

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 23/04/2023 15:09

I’m 5G but phone was connected via Wi-Fi. Maybe that made a difference?

I’m just feel bad for anyone in the middle of a wedding ceremony or funeral services!

Hopefully most guests will have turned their phone off, esp knowing there is an alert planned for that time today.

bumblefeline · 23/04/2023 15:09

5 phones here only one went off at 3pm.

SorePaw · 23/04/2023 15:09

I'm planning on going to my local supermarket for 3pm just to hear them all go off / see the public reaction! 🚨

I had planned to go & people watch!

be on hand to reassure scared people etc

but I remembered the alarm, but forgot to go out!! 🙇🏻‍♀️🙇🏻‍♀️

mine didn't go off!

JudgeRudy · 23/04/2023 15:09

East Midlands here. No alarm or text. Ha ha. Does that mean we've been chosen to be the 'doomed' citizens

Why?

WilsonMilson · 23/04/2023 15:09

Not sure what I was expecting, but feeling a bit underwhelmed. Thought it would be louder somehow.

My phone went off at 3pm, same time as DH’s. DS’s phone, on same network, went off at 3.02pm.

Oh well, as you were.

Mines gone off 4 times now...l need to make it stop🤣

I wonder how they'll know these things, will we get a text in a few days asking for our feedback? 😆

SirenSays · 23/04/2023 15:09

No alert but I've been on a phone call for ages. I thought I'd at least get a notification.

Was126orbustandmaybebust · 23/04/2023 15:09

I got it as did DD2, DD1 and DH did not.
DD1's friend got two.
Bit random...

TheOrigRights · 23/04/2023 15:10

It knocked my phone off its perch!

Highworth · 23/04/2023 15:10

Highworth · 23/04/2023 15:08

One here on EE went off at 2.59.
Nothing for me on Three.

And an iPad on O2 that got nothing.

OvaHere · 23/04/2023 15:10

That was a bit of an anti climax. 😂

DH's phone and my work phone went off at 14.58. My personal phone and the 3 teens phones didn't do anything.

Bokky · 23/04/2023 15:10

DH and I are also on 3 and neither of us got the alert.
DD is with Sky and hers has gone off.

OrangeRock · 23/04/2023 15:10

Wales got it in Welsh and you had to scroll for English.
In an emergency not many of us speak Welsh but we all understand English. That’s a poor judgement for the sake of being Welsh. If I’m being told to run or take cover I don’t want have to scroll to find the English.

It’s not really though is it? They’re not sending brainwashing propaganda direct to people’s phones. We search that out willingly, they don’t need to.

CrunchyCarrot · 23/04/2023 15:11

I think there must be some glitches that need sorting out! Either that or I am on the 'Don't save' list!

CatChase · 23/04/2023 15:11

Sounds like it didn't work on phones using the Three network. So I guess they'll have to test again.

Onegingerhead · 23/04/2023 15:11

iphones, Three. No alarm for myself, DH, DBL, and a couple of android (haha) friends

VickyEadieofThigh · 23/04/2023 15:11

3pm on the dot for me but very quiet and I hit OK immediately, whereupon it stopped.

Damp squib. I wouldn't have heard it at all if I had been in another room.
